Just received my Hughes & Kettner Tubemeister 18-12 combo

Wanted/needed a low watt amp for home & tiny gig (the only gigs I do) usage.

I've played a friends 36 and really liked it. Knowing I'd never use something that large for my purposes, the 18 seemed like the next 'logical' option.

Congrats!

I have the 18, the 36, and the grandmeister (all heads). I think they sound great. I prefer the 36 for the extra channel controls and midi, but the 18 still rocks. You shouldn't need more than 18 watts. I play large clubs, and have done unmiced indoor and outdoor gigs. I still have never used the 36 watt modes at a gig.

Enjoy!

Congrats. H&K doesn't get the love it deserves.

I have a Switchblade 100. When cranked, it can be an effective part of a Spay & Neuter campaign...

Had all of maybe 5 minutes to play it yesterday evening.
Switched it over to the 1 watt setting (since that's where I anticipated it'd live most the time).
Had the volume to around 5 and it's still pretty damn quite...which is perfecto for me.

Any tricks, or the like that I should know about this rascal?

I'll admit that before I played my buddies, I only knew H&K as the "Ewww, cool blue lights, amp".

Haven't seen how well it excepts pedals. Although my set-up is extremely minimal
