You are an honest guy and I can respect that

I am hoping to get one soon if things go right.

I do like the classic tones in this the amp but not for the price or the hype...

I don't just use only metal tones I use my JVM and my Tele on the low gain channel all the time and I also have a Peavey Delta blues 1x15 combo that just kicks ass...

But for the "know it all" people who make inflamatory posts like Sadronald this amp was supposed to have more gain than the JVM as stated in threads by people on the Marshall forum who had interactions with the actual builder... It does not even come close to that.

In fact this amp is a waste of time and money as you could just by a plexi RI used with a true bypass loop for around a GRAND and put a freaking OD pedal in front of it or have someone really cool like JERRYP mod it for way less and get 10x the mojo this amp has...

Seriously IMO this is amp does not make sense to me as you don't need to spend 2500 get this end result unless you are just nuts over Yngwie...

What does gain have to do with anything? You don't sound like someone who has played for 25 years and has gone through as many amps.

It was funny. I've got a sense of humor. Although completely ill placed. Still funny nonetheless. :D

It's for anybody that wants a '72 metal panel Marshall tone w/ kickass extra features.

Wonder how many YJM's will still be running in 39 years and not in landfills somewhere.
\:D/

Can they withstand the rigors of tough environments like the basements of collectors? That's the real question.

I think many people will like this amp alot, also many will not and feel it's another over hyped signature amp that is not worth $2,500 bux. I'm in the latter group I guess. FWIW I didn't take the back off or anything buy I peeked through the rear grill and I did not remeber seeing any big filter caps... They might have been there, but I do not remeber seeing them... Anyway there is a loca guy selling amint 2006 1959RI with lopp and everything for $950.00... never ledft the house. That + a stomp box and a reverb pedal and you have a wee wee with out the built in power soak...

lol...

I honesly didn't think this amp was going to be an over the top flame thrower, and I almost canceld getting it on more than once occasion due to the long wait... I just read things on the Marshall forums and watched videos and I know it could be just a regular plexi, but thought it was going to be alot differnt when you kicked in all the extra features. There were people saying it had more gain on tap than a JVM on the Marshall forum... Again it's a cool amp but not my thing at all for the money, no way no how...

It's going away today anyway...

Got mine from MF for $2200. I don't think it's a hyped amp at all. It's a limited edition. Probably hold it's resale very well.

The self biasing feature alone is ultra hip and the power reduction seems to work alot better than an attenuator.

How much should this amp sell for? $1000?

You paid too much... :D

I really hope you like your YJM! Seriously!

I seriously hated mine over all

These will be going for like $1500-$1600 used in no time and maybe less... AFD's were selling for 1500 locally used and my GC will sell the barnd new they have for 1600.00

No filter caps topside, guts are JVM-ish...

Hey I think alot of peeps would like this amp, but after getting this amp and honestly expecting somthing different, I would buy a used RI first and then let JERRYP work his magic or just buy a nice little "wee wee OD stomp box" and you could have enough cash leftover to buy a cab...

Did any of you see that video he posted this week of the modded plexi... IT WAS SICK!!!

That JERRYP modded plexi is kicking some butt over the YJM I just got... Also I think you get real caps in the RI plexi too...

I think that is true with most amps. Some will like it and others not so much lol :D

I think it's a cool amp for what it offers and you have to keep in mind that even if you do get a used 1959 Re-issue and use an OD box, you are going to need an attenuator or have a MV put into the amp unless you want to go deaf hahhaa! That will also add to the price.
With that said, $950 is a great price on a used 1959 ;)

I would grab that $950 RI and make it into an Jose Atomica for 4-500 bucks!

The amp is now gone and in the hands of FedEx

I feel much better now that my nad is finally over...

No real surprise here--EXACT same thing happened with the HAZE line. Everyone looking for a fire-breathing high-gain monster was like, "these amps are weak!." But, had anyone read the description, the HAZE line was made to capture 70's and early 80's tones, not modern metal. Read the description and use the right tool for the job. Jeez...

I happen to like the HAZE 40 but would use it more in a Top-40/Cover band than in any type of modern metal setting.
