FWIW I didn't take the back off or anything buy I peeked through the rear grill and I did not remeber seeing any big filter caps... They might have been there, but I do not remeber seeing them...

No filter caps topside, guts are JVM-ish...

Hey I think alot of peeps would like this amp, but after getting this amp and honestly expecting somthing different, I would buy a used RI first and then let JERRYP work his magic or just buy a nice little "wee wee OD stomp box" and you could have enough cash leftover to buy a cab...

Did any of you see that video he posted this week of the modded plexi... IT WAS SICK!!!

That JERRYP modded plexi is kicking some butt over the YJM I just got... Also I think you get real caps in the RI plexi too...

Dude, with all the video clips out there of the YJM, over the course of months......what were expecting different? You're a thrash player. Clear touch sensitive power amp Marshall distortion isn't going to suit you. Judging by your live clips, it seems you go for gobs of preamp sludge. There's nothing articulate about that tone. It's a chord bashing tone, whereas a Plexi style amp is not preamp gain based.
There's no noise to hide behind. Judging by the fact you only last a few minutes with the amp,only says to me, the YJM exposed you and you had no real sludge to bash your chords with.
As to Jerry P's amp or whatever used junker you're trying to say is better, save yourself the embarrassment. Sell the amp to a guy who knows how to use it, and enjoy your journey thru high gain sludge generating amps.

Whats a trash player? I play alot more than heavy styles of music... I spend quite alot of time with my 1952 Tele and my combo to be honest...

Uh... sorry you didn't like your new amp but seriously what did you expect an YJM sig amp to sound like? You can't possibly have thought it would have anywhere near the amount of gain the JVM has? The JVM has obscene amounts of gain, how could a superlead have that kind of gain? That's like being upset that some noob posted that he can get perfect thrash tones out of his tele and then when you play one and it sounds like a... tele (shocker) and say it sucks and are disappointed? Surely you knew it's basically a superlead with built-in boost/gate/verb/attenuator. That's all they ever advertised it as. Even in that vid posted it's not that much gain, really. I'm sure if you can play some yngwie style stuff it would be close to that vid.

I'm sympathize with your disappointment.
I've had a similar experience with a rig that consisted of a Gretsch Country Gentleman and a Fender Twin. Imagine my shock and dispair when I couldn't get a good Celtic Frost tone out of it...

I bought a 2203KK the day it came out and was let down too... To bad there was alot of misinformation about this amp on the Marshall forum saying it had more gain than a JVM... I will look for them... I actually showed them to some of my friends months ago.

I cant say what I got my for but I got a way better deal than him... I wanted to make some money at first aafter not liking it and threw it up in the classifieds last night, but in the end I returned it for a full refund this morning...

Id rather buy the mint 2006 plexi for 950.00 in Palm bay and send it to jerryp... his video was killer and sounded way better than this amp IMO.

There are threads on the Marshall forum that mention the builders name and that it was said more gain than a JVM... they have been there for months, I have them booked marked at home. I thought this to be suspect but some of the videos of the sound pretty gainy and even mention that the boost circuit adds a fair amount of gain... If it didn't add/have a fair amont of gain then why add a noise gate out of the box.

I totally get you not liking the amp, but to buy this kind of amp and then be disappointed it doesn't to "modern tones" is definitely weird for this kind of amp, which is why I'm not the only one that is posting that this is kinda If you just didn't like the tone I'd get it, but expecting an yngwie sig amp to do modern tones doesn't make sense.

By all means call me a dickhead for pointing out the obvious if you want though, no worries

I pulled out my Martin acoustic and threw it back in the case. Piece of crap, I was playing some Slayer Reign in Blood and I just couldn't cop King or Hannemans tone. Off to Fed Ex it goes.
