This is a bit overdue. Life has been a bit crazy the past couple of months. I bought this for rehearsing with a cover band I was jamming with; that pretty much fell apart on me, but I like the amp enough to hang onto it for a while. I found this locally on marketplace for a fair price.

It has a very pretty fender 'esque clean channel, as advertised. Overall the amp is a little brighter than I'd like at lower volumes, it actually seems to mellow out a bit when turned up. I find that especially true on the clean channel, but the EQ allows that to be tamed easily enough. It does take pedals quite nicely, if that's your thing. I'm running through the stock open back speaker, which isn't really broken it at all. I need to try it through a closed back cab.

The gain channel sort of reminds me of the old F series, for lack of a better comparison. It has a little bit of the mark series smooth thing going on, but more raw & open, it doesn't sound quite as aggressive. It gets well into hard rock territory gain wise, and lets the sound of the guitar come through quite nicely. I can grab a few different guitars with similar PAF type pickups and hear a distinct difference between them all. It responds to picking dynamics really well, cleanup with the volume knob rolled off is OK, but nothing to rave about.

Here's a clip of me noodling on the highest gain setting, with it cranked pretty good (you can see settings in the photos) I included a few seconds of 'in the room' sound at the end, since I usually run thru to the speaker when doing IR recordings.

How can you stand to have your guitar room in such disarray?

Just kidding Cobra. The amp sounds great, very smooth sounding lead tones.

nicely done. thanks for running the gain full up too. do you ever hit it with a pedal for more?

i thought the amp sounded great the first time i played it.

Sound great. I currently rock a 50 watt Fillmore combo for my band. The cleans are exceptional. The gain channels are good too. I find myself missing the EL34 crunch though at times. Open back combos are something new for me too. It is a very ice amp and very functional ad is laid out pretty simply. Another thing about this amp is that the tone controls etc are really sensitive and work pretty well.

Not as much is I probably should, at least on higher gain settings. I tried it with the lower gain side on the Tone of Kings & it was ok, the Tim V3 on the board set for a bit of boost & eq change worked pretty well.

I really should break out some of my other dirt pedals and give them a try in that context.

I have a 50 and can’t get along with the drive channels at all. The clean channel is worth the price of the amp alone though

Honestly I kind of have days where I feel like that on the drive modes, then days where I’ll grab a certain guitar & it just sits wonderfully in this tonal space none of my other amps do.

I’d really love a chance to hear the 50w version side by side with this one. I’m wondering if I’d have been happier going that route instead of the 25.
