NAD: Mesa Mark VII - the best?

I use VII mode for my Marshally stuff. I don't ise the GEQ instead using the EQ from my Boss GT1000 to get it there. No mud on mine though. I've had mine since June and it has killed all amp gas for me.

Low volume clip of my VII using fat clean, VII and 2C+ modes. Disclaimer of my crap playing.

Mk7 mode mids on 10 then adjust the eq (V) and other dials to taste that with a gate is my modern low tuner setting on this puppy.

As is the case with many of us here; I had absolutely no business buying another amp, however, have been lamenting my (somewhat stupidly traded for a JVM410 years ago) Mark V and have been perusing the area used market recently. While doing so I fell into the Mark VII hole and - while painfully nearly double the Mark V entry price of many years ago - took advantage of the Sweetwater CC financing in purchasing the head version. Currently connected to a Bogner 212C and is providing the best amp tones I've ever experienced. Age may be diminishing my Mark V recollection; however, I don't recall that amp sounding THIS good. I'm just gonna go to work, let my Wife handle the bills (in an effort to forget the expense) and cherish this amp the rest of my days.

I had a MKV for about a year. It was a very good amp. I just did not like some of the modes at all.
I also had a JP2c. I thought it sounded boxy. It gave a sound like I was playing through a 1x12 when I was really playing through a 4 x 12.
Even with the EQ scooped, it was too boxy sounding.
When I got the MK VII, I was dialing in really good sounds without even having to use the EQ.

Sorry for bad etiquette but id hate to open a whole new thread on this.

I've been playing a mark vii. The mark vii mode is messing with me. Anyone else find that is the one channel that flubs on them and is weird?

Ive been playing it with eq on in normal v. If I turn off eq similar behavior. Cranking the treble like usual isnt working. Full mids or high mids+treble and bass 10 o clock work. I tested crunch and fat channels on channel 1 and 2 to see if it was a tube or something. They all work fine.

Maybe this is working as intended it just seems so extreme vs the other 8 settings on the amp.

The VII mode is harder to dial for some reason. On channel two, I just like using the crunch mode with the graphic EQ, and I can get it sounding pretty killer. You can tell they revoiced it from prior versions, so you can now use the graphic EQ with both channels 2 and 3, and it works pretty well.

The settings in my pic are with the Mark VII on channel 2 and it sounds fantastic. Unsure what people are doing resulting in this channel not sounding good. ???

Mark VII Mode - Check out these Sunday afternoon Dad-pants!!!

Welcome to the club! I love my Mark III but it's a one trick pony and it does it well! The Mark VII is more versatile tough. No pedals straight in ready to roll. You need to play with the crunch mode that's all I have to say.
Mark 3 ++ greenie the ultimate mark sound imo . The highs are so cool that many hate . Agressive and very easy to get and justice for all tones with just a gate no boost . Knobs go to 10 for a reason .i don’t get just setting up the 6 6 6 eq for the ending point on basic eq .
