I picked up a Mesa Triple Rectifier that was modded by Kyle Rhodes about a week ago and it's AWESOME! It's got the sag but its still tight. It sounds great blended with my Pittbull UL, the UL being super tight and the Mesa with its fat(yet tight) tone. Does anyone know how I can tell what revision it is?

Here's a clip. It's just my Gibson V straight into the Mesa, through a Splawn 4x12:

And here's a good old long channel run through vid

oh my... that sounds great ! how much for the mods ?

Not sure, I bought it after they were done. You'd have to ask Rhodes/KRS

Nice score man! I have a Revision D (pre-500) and a Revision G, and after swapping the same exact tubes back and forth, there are some big differences. Maybe someday I'll remember to get some clips up to compare the Rev. D to your Rev. F. I haven't seen too many Triple Rectifiers before Revision G, so that is one rare Triple.

Most certainly!!!! I could record some new stuff too. I'd love to hear the difference, I'm not too familiar with how the pre-500's sound. I think that mine is a bit heavier in the mids than the later ones.

think the recto metal heads would mostly be fans of cannibal corpse ?

whats different from the original rectos to the roadster and the road king ?

Not sure exactly what you're asking in the first question. I like old Cannibal but I'm not really a fan of their current tone. It's all subjective, but I think it's a bit overkill. EMG's into a metalzone, into a Triple rectifier. When I hear a lot of their stuff, I can hear a fat heavy tone in there, but it's kind of masked by the fizz they get from using too much gain. Just my opinion, I'm not saying my tone's any better.

I think the main difference between the all three of those amps is features/switches. For example, the Road King allows you to mix EL34s and 6L6es, has a second effects loop and more speaker options. I've played through neither the roadster nor the roadking, but I assume that any tone you get with a standard recto, you can get with the roadster, and any tone that you get with the roadster, you can get with the roadking.

ohh my... a metal zone dis into the rectos ? hell... i kind of like the tone from the Vile album when corpse grinder first join CC haha... no idea what amps and pedals they use but i guess CC generally uses rectos..

The triple rect after i heard is wow and wow... like it ! its gotta sag gotta fatness to it.. very cool ... didnt know the rects can be so cool after mods maybe most of the fizzy character is taken away by the mods ?

+1 for your collection ...

Sounds awesome man!

I've got the same amp! '92 Rev F Triple Rectifier. Don't see them much around, great amp! Congrats on the NAD!
