Thank you giles, you know me and my love of the modded marshall tone for the type of stuff we play. my Jubilee is great but i need to use a boost and i'd prefer not to if i can get away with that. for me as you know it is all about saturation and low end, since i only tune down a whole step.

They had a used jubilee for a while at the Sam Ash in Margate...

I played it a couple of times with a boost, without a boost, tried for a while to get a sound out of it I like and it was just not the amp for me.

That said, I find that the QR and the jubilee are pretty different amps.

In the ridicules world of over priced so called boutique marshall clones the B+ Quick Rod is a true breath of fresh air and delivers the goods.
I have said this for over a year now. I don't knock anyone for liking the higher priced stuff but IMHO nothing I have heard makes me in the slightest bit interested in moving on from the B+ QR.

With that said … I also want a Nitro!!!

I want a Competition with the B+

I was going to order a 50 watt super Comp with B+ . I was told that all the 50 watters already have the B+ components . B+ is only an option for 100 watt amp.

Correct. Competition has the B+ already. On a side note...diggin my 2012 at band practice yesterday...it just sounds great.

IMO, the Quickrod is not only Splawn's best model, but one of the best amps out there period.
Does the 50w Competition come close in tone ?
I totally agree! It may not have all the bells and whistles (switches, buttons, etc) but it doesnt need that stuff. It's a plug and play amp that is bullet proof, quality built and sounds either mean and pissed, bluesy or even country twanged. Buy a head and cab for around $1,500 less than some other heads alone. Definitely the best bang for the buck
