Just picked up this amp today, the guy was in a band moving towards axefx, so didn't need this anymore. I think it sounds awesome. Got to crank it up and it has some serious tone for sure.

Just made a quick vid first with ts7 bypassed then with ts7 activated. It's beastly either way. Hard to beat the price of this amp these days.

I had a 5150 combo years ago, it definitely didn't sound as good as the head with a cabinet.

For those of you who own or have owned one of these:

Favorite settings? Favorite speakers or cabinet? I'm a matching cab type of guy, so I will likely seek out a matching factory cab for this one even if it doesn't sound as good as some of my current cabs. It sounds good through them all so far.

Through the Peavey 412MS with Celestion K-85's

Through my Uberkab

Congrats. I picked up a 6506+ recently and absolutely love it.

GREAT amps.

Thank you, definitely a kick ass amp. Makes me start to wonder if I'll ever get around to clean tones lol

It's hard to beat a Mesa 4x12 cab paired up with these amps. Whatever you're playing in the video sounds pretty damn beefy, though.

I can't agree more, normally. ALmost all my heads have their matching cabs. BUT.... I couldn't sell that junk 5150 cab fast enough, when I picked up a 5150 half stack. I didn't like it much with my oversize recto cab either. I liked it best through my front loaded Diezel cabs.

Had one. Solid amp. I sold it after getting a splawn back in 2006. I had it paired with a vht 2x12 and it was punchy.

Sounds great with most cabs ....I have a Mesa traditional, Splawn and a DV Mark cab and it kicks ass with any one of those....The Mesa is prob the best match for that familiar V30 metal tone.

The guy I bought it from was selling a Mesa cab too to go along with it, but I ran out of $ to spend on gear for the moment. It did sound damn good through that cabinet, I actually got to jam with his drummer for a bit it was awesome.

I was playing it through my Uberkab and after that brief pause with my Ibanez ts7 in front of it. This head I played through all of my cabs last night and it sounds awesome through them all. There's a peavey 412ms locally with the Sheffield 1290's for dirt cheap, I mean so cheap you could buy speakers for it and still be in it for a low price. I was considering this cab just to try something different.

I have plenty of v30's to play through already and it does sound damn good through them.

Did you ever try blending the peavey cab with other cabs? I out this head through my Uberkab & Krankenstein cabs at the same time last night. The result was awesome. I've never played through a peavey cab, so I don't have any opinion on those. It seems that it's split right down the middle with a love Em or hate em attitude. I think I'll go play one myself and see what my ears hear.

Just picked up an older peavey 412ms cabinet, the pawn shop had it listed as a bass cabinet lol, got it for next to nothing. Pop it open and it's fille with celestion g12k-85's, made in the usa, & all plywood no mdf at all. On my way home now! Most people say these are the same as the k-100's which I have in my Marshall Mode Four Cabinet and love them!

I have a feeling it's gonna sound nice n brutal.

And indeed it is, I think this cabinet is absolutely nuts. Tons of balls, slightly scooped mids, just enough highs, no ice picks in the ears. Very well balanced. While it's not a 5150 cabinet its at least a peavey. This cabinet holds its own. What's even more insane is that this is the slanted cab, I'd love to see a straight cab!

This cabinet has me thinking. I have always ran mono. Since this is a 412MS(mono/stereo) I can run either one cable from the head to the cab at 16 ohms, or two cables from the head to the cab at 4 ohms. Does this create an actual stereo effect or would this be like running 2 cabs mono?

My first tests switching back and forth seem like a much different sound from the amp. The one cable 16 ohm option seems more raw/dark, the two cable 4 ohm option seems more lively and well put together. I'm just going to have to record it and see if there is an actual difference.

Killer. Thank you for not playing Eruption

Lol, I don't have the patience to learn it. I love Eddies playing for sure, but it's not my style as you can see. The hardest thing I can play is the beginning of Yngwies Arpeggios From Hell, that took me a solid couple days to learn. Even then I fumble when playing it up to speed. I'm like a not famous version of James Hetfield, more of a rhythm player but can dabble a little with leads. Mostly as a result of taking the easy road of just jamming with what I Know rather than learning new stuff. No one to blame but me.

I'm diggin this 412MS cabinet. Very balanced speakers in the k-85's, sound much like my K-100's in my mode four cabinet. Most people seem to believe it is the same speaker, so that makes sense.

I have a straight 412M with K-85's and it sounds killer with the 6505+ and when paired with my 1960B through my JCM 900 2100 MKIII.

Here's a pic of the open back.

Awesome, so they do exist! I'm definitely planning on tracking one down. The only place I've seen with one of the top cabinets like mine that actually knows what they have is asking $500! Not a bad price if you think about it, us made cabinet, Celestion speakers, all ply wood no press board, good quality Tolex the list goes on and on. The pawn shop I picked this one up from thought it was a bass cabinet for some reason and sold it for dirt cheap. I had them open the back for me since the info tag didn't say what speakers were in there. As soon as I saw those k-85's there was no question I was leaving with this cab.
