Holy shit! I love room mic recordings too because it gives the best representation of how it will sound standing next to the amp.

Thx a lot guyz!! It's a sleeper of an amp! I mean listen to the gain the crunch channel has..!

Not the best type of recording but you get the idea..! Gain at 3.5

I really like the sound of this vid, especially where that chord rings out around 2:50. That's the Ultra series sound right there IMO.

That sounds fucking nasty. It’s got that metallic klank that Holt gets out of them. Is that straight in?

I got one cheap as well last month. Still has original tubes sound phenomenal. Afraid to mess with it as I had issues with my first early model with the E34L screen resistor problems. It sounded amazing back then. This is the lightning logo one now and seems solid as hell. Anyway with my Fishman Fluence loaded guitars I feel like it sounds great the way it is love these amps \m/
Its not that hard to change the SGR's in those amps..I had one and switched out the stock 100 ohm ones..I still have some extra of the 1k ohm ones because I know I will buy another one.
Great amp and love my 5150 EVH signature as well.

Great fun amps! They are very good at low volumes.

I am not sure if the looks were different if it would be more popular. The 3120 was basically the same amp with different looks, and it is not super popular either.
You are sure right about sounding great at lower volumes..I can't believe I sold the one I had.

Never too late to get one for a cheap price!

Had three of these.

The first two with 6L6's I loved. Third one had EL34's in it.........not a fan. Been on the lookout for another lately, but they are getting both harder to come by and more expensive.

What were your likes/dislikes between the different tubes?

6L6’s were more aggressive, with more highs and nut rattling lows. EL34’s were tamer with more mids.

Yeah mine came with ruby 6l6s and ehx. I'm gonna try a 5751 in v2 to tame the highs and have much better gain control.

HNXXXD

will check out your clips later - as they are always good

Agree on the XXX and JSX. 6L6's were just bigger and beefier sounding in those particular amps to my ear and feel. And I'm a 34 guy. Just didn't dig them in those two amps.
