So a local guy had the amp listed on FB. He had lowered the price twice, so I made a crazy offer. He took it.
Amp is near end of G production run. It was filthy, missing feet and chassis straps and usual handle wear. I do my usual pot cleaning and went through it. I discovered it has a bias mod. He said he was second owner and had no idea.
Changed preamp tubes to Mesa. Power tubes JJ.
ordered missing parts and painted faceplate with plastic coat. Easy to remove. Did a little polishing to Mesa logo. Put it all back together.
It’s a keeper.

Yes it is. But people still playing amps of the 60’s 70’s and 80’s.
Just add boost and your good to go.
 
Cool man. Looks great! I much prefer the blacked out look on Rectos with JJ tubes :yes:

SD-1! The hidden gem boost for a Recto!
Yeah SD1 seems less aggressive. I have a KSR and a Peppers. Both excellent. Had a Fortin 33 nice but sold it to a friend. It was excellent but just a one trick pony.
