Found this beauty at GC, I know I know, but the one in Phoenix gets some nice amps thru there every now and then. Any who picked up a Surreal CM100 in like new condition for 10 Benjamins. I have always owned off the shelf Peavys, VHT, Marshall, Fender, Carvin etc and nothing wrong with those, but never a handmade PTP amp like this one. Man o Man does this thing rip. Played it for like 10 mins in the store and knew it was coming home. The touch sensitivity, tight yet with some sag, warm yet cuts, and all the gain you could want that still cleans up with the volume knob is just tits. Clean is warm and not sterile, crunch is AC/DC to 80s metal, and lead just continues from there. Loop is super transparent zero tone suck, master volume works great, bedroom volume if you want it, still sounds fantastic. The noise floor is nil, I mean I put the master on 7 and no hiss or noise on the highest gain setting, which I think indicates a quality build and components. I like the removable faceplate too, really easy to roll tubes if need be, and love to see those glowing beauties. Really digging this amp.....

I have to say that I love the options on these amps and some of the clips I've heard have been pretty amazing. Congrats! I'd love to play on one.

I've come home with some impulse buys from that store too, like many, many times.

Yeah for weeks they had used crap amps and then all of a sudden this week VHT deliverance 120, Friedman JJ, Mesa Transatlantic, Mesa Electradyne, Mesa Stilleto, 86 JCM 800, but it was the Surreal that won out....

Which phoenix guitar center?

The only one with a Phoenix address is at I-17 and Peoria. The others are in technically in Mesa, Tempe, Scottsdale and Avondale.

BTW, I saw a very clean JCM800 2204 in a pawn shop yesterday at Peoria and 19th Ave. But it was $1325, so not a total steal. The GC down the street also has one at the moment, but it's been hacked up.

From what I understand, either Jerry worked with Cameron or did some "ghost" building for Mark.

I have his first production/prototype amp. It was still called the Atomica at the time. It's great, I love it. Jerry still responds to his pm's here, though he hasn't been around in awhile. I love the lower gain channel with a boost, but really the amp can do it all.

Yup. Until they had a falling out of some sort. Pretty close to an authentic Cam Jose but not quite. He does a good job, heard good things about the tones. Had some type of a meltdown or two here at some point, don't remember exactly what happened.

There's a rule about not bringing up religion on here... just saying.

Good catch, I didn't even notice that. I'll just pretend its a devil tail

I've been real curious about these. Tried to trade for one that was up in the Classifieds earlier this year. I occasionally check GC online for them too, but no luck yet.
Enjoy!
