New to the stable is an amp made by Ben Verellen. It's a "2 Channel" amp in the Marshall camp. Channel one is the JMP channel. Has pull pots for split/shared cathode, tone stack, and bright cap. Does all the lead/bass Plexi stuff you could want and sounds awesome. On par with my 68 clone decked out with all NOS parts, and to say one is better than the other would be splitting hairs.
Channel 2 is the JCM channel. It's basically a JCM 800 with a few tweaks to make it sound like the ideal 800 without the drawbacks. Lots of grind, tight bottom end, no ice pick and no fizz. Sounds awesome. Very open and articulate with lots of balls.
Also has a tube driven boost on the JCM side with an independent gain and master. This is like a 3rd channel more than a solo boost. It does for me what I've always wanted a pedal to do. Transparent boost that tightens up the bottom a bit and adds as much sizzle as you want without being overly compressed or saturated.
Independent EQ, loop, independent gains and masters, footswitable channels and boost, 100W, all hand wired, and friggin beautiful to boot. This amp delivers the goods that I've wanted from many of the other modded Marshall amps out there that I've tried. working with Ben couldn't have been easier and he's a great guy just getting out custom amps to get you the tones and features you want. Couldn't be happier.
