So, as usual I’m always looking for something, usually amps and specifically racked amps. I have been on the hunt for a TBR superlead for some time. Well, I found one in Italy; sold by Rivera to the European market so the power output transformer runs on 200+. Ehh. Easy fix. Anyway I took a chance on it and the guy was totally legit (not on reverb or American selling site (be like Craig’s list except Italian; aka Matteo’s list or something). Got to me in 5 days and because its American made; no customs importation tax or whatever that is; bonus. Then I called Rivera and got a message from the office dude, Richard Purchnicki and he said the internals are same and just rewire the output transformer from European to US standard. Done. I plug in my PRS and a tumnus OD and bam! 2 mins screwing with it and it’s hot! Lots of sustain. I ain’t got time to fuck with it tonight but this weekend will be balls on. Again, too much stuff not enough space. Pics of my “package ?” and video of me noodling for a minute or so.

That sounds great. I gotta get a Rivera in the stable one of these years

Nice! Congrats.

Had a TBR1SL myself; lots of tone shaping options on it. You can also run 34s on one side of the power amp and 6550s on the other I believe. Loop is great, and the clean of course might be the best in any high gain amp ever. I boosted mine with an SD1. Great modded Marshally tone.

I bet the shipping cost on that thing was extreme lol

I'm jelly

ran a standard TBR-1 back in the day as a power amp for my triaxis rack rig. they’re ingenious amps with the pickup compensation, pedal loop and post preamp loop…SL sounds nice!

As a sidenote if you get the chance, try it with active EMG pickups.

Congratties on the score!

Interesting; I don’t have actives but always interested in new sounds. Thanks

Just curious, how similar is this to something like the M100 or old two channel Knucklehead's in terms of gain tones?

Looks absolutely sick. I love the huge fan.

I understand the M100 is essentially the same. This is a good video on run down. Your question is answered at about 7:40 mark
