For me this was a hard question to answer. After some thought.

Eric Clapton.

I went thru stages in my playing and owe different influences for each stage.

Ace Frehley specifically Kiss Alive II. After spinning that album a thousand times I had to have a guitar.

Man, what a tough call. There have been many musicians who inspired me when I was young. The only thing I can say for sure is that the chick on the Cars 1st album cover, as well as the fine women on the inside album sleeve (the one in the limo and the one on the tiger print couch), made it VERY clear to me (when I was about 7 years old) that I need to be in a band.

First few years, it was Yngwie. Now (post tendinitis, lol), it's Jerry Cantrell.

Well, I have been most inspired by these players...with the strongest preference being the first one:

1. John Petrucci

2. Joe Satriani

3. Jerry Cantrell

4. James Hetfield

JERRY CANTRELL

this was the first song i ever learned in its entirety.

EVH was the reason i picked up a guitar, and is all my all time favorite guitarist

but ...

my style of playing has been most influenced by john connolly and clint lowery of sevendust.

hard to say one when you grew up with so many amazing musicians and all that talent was exposed all over the radio's ...Hendrix, Blackmore, Zeppelin, VH... I guess Hendrix's "Machine Gun" was the first time I heard an electric guitar sound like that, which was earth shattering to me.
