Name your 1st guitar and amp!!

A candy red Kramer Striker and a Marshall Micro Stack I bought with my first big pay day when I was 16. Worked all spring break and saved up for it.

Sounded like crap, but I played like crap back then too

Mine was a Hondo Strat, Black with whit pickguard, black headstock and a Crate G-20 1-12 amp, I remember buying the DOD supra distortion and thought I just found the meanest sound ever, through the clean channel!

When I started I wanted to be Yngwie so I bought a white strat and a leopard print strap. My first amp was a Hot Rod Deluxe.

Used Charvel and a 30w Behringer combo

Still have the guitar... but the amp died and had to be sent back... twice. Second time I told them to keep it!

Don`t remember the model, but it was a semi ok Yamaha. It was H/S/H and natural. I then proceeded to work all summer as an umpire (I was 12) and use all of my savings along with that guitar towards an olympic white squire strat. I thought because it was a strat it had to be better. I got majorly ripped off...kind of shitty on the music store employees on that one.

First amp was a Peavey KB15. Yep, a keyboard amp.

Guitar: 1991 Black Gibson Les Paul Studio with Duncan 59's: $475 bucks. Bought it used with my Confirmation money.

Amp: Peavey 2x8" backstage Chorus amp. Had the "super-sat" pull-gain boost. It was pretty dreadful sounding, but at the time, I loved it, and the idea of two speakers was awesome to me.

A $400 Charvel with an oddball Kahler that I really hated and a Carvin 60 watt tube combo which I still have.

a homemade SG with strat neck with a single coil pickup...plus a mirror pickguard....and a gorilla amp

Mine was an Arbor Flying V and crate practice amp.

My best friend had a blue Arbor star-style body--that was actually a great guitar!!

Body style was like this, but in a cool blue:

Ibanez Roadstar II, and a peavey Audition 20 POS amp.

Guitar looked just like this..

Series 10 guitar with fake mother of pearl sharktooth inlays

Crate 15w SS

Circa 1984

Still have both ;)

I still have it ... it's in the other room. My Dad had bought it from his cousin in the 50's. No name on the guitar and the amp on the front says "Stadium". One 6 inch speaker, two 12AX7 and a EL84. Single volume and tone. The thing sounds great. It does not produce the bass end of a Herbert but is very touch sensitive and great distortion.

My first real rig in 1978 (I was doing some bar gigs and needed a real rig) was a 1969 Strat that is my only Strat I have now. Fender Twin, Cry Baby, EH Phase and Big Muff. I sold the amp 20 some odd years ago and the pedals were stolen about 3 years ago.

1991 Ibanez RG770 in laser blue and a Peavy Express 1x12. Still have and play both.

A couple beat to shit MXR and the like pedals.

60s Kalamazoo (gibson) mustang with a neck so warped you could walk under the strings, and a 70s Fender Princeton Reverb. Dad paid $199 for the princeton back in '83, the kalamazoo was a gift from a friend of his who played guitar. That was my first electric guitar... first guitar was a classical Washburn.
