Thought I'd warn some forumites who will attend NAMM that I'm gonna give some info on a new LP model, which many have been waiting for.

Here's the info:

LES PAUL AXCESS
Gibson has heard the cry from its loyal customers and, in an effort to satisfy their desires, has created the Les Paul Axcess model. With such appointments as the Floyd Rose tremolo tailpiece to the ergonomic neck/body design, once you have felt the excitement of this beautifully responsive instrument, heard its rich tone and seen its exquisite, graceful design, you will know the affection that the players feel for their Gibson guitars—an affection that transcends time, style, and musical trends.

This is great news!!!! A floyd paul would be great to own

Its about friggin time, Gibson stumbled on a great thing when the built the Neal Schon Sig, Ive always said that they should make it regular production...

To the dorks who think that a floyd on a Paul is sacrilege, get bent!!! Its the way it should be!!!! Im kidding( sort of, about the dork comment anyway, not the floyd) but the heel access is something that is YEARS late....

Can't say I'm a fan of Floyd Rose (or any tremolo bar for that matter). I'd kill myself before having Floyd Rose on my guitars but I gotta admit that it was pretty stupid of Gibson to not have a model that has floyd rose.

Definitly years late on the heel access. If i could have an LP with the extra access, without affecting the tone.. then id be all over it!!! The floyd is the icing on the cake

Listen, you dont have to sell me... I've installed Floyds into my fkn Mr. Coffee, for Christsakes!!!!!  IM comfy on that bridge, no doubt... Ive torn up high end stuff an installed simply to have that right hand consitancy on my guitars.....
Like everything else, if your comfortable on a particular combination of design, hardware, and woods, an it works for YOU, who the hell in the world has the right to slap it down?? Ive gotten away with some really great sounds, IMHO, on POS guitars that were waaaay more than the sum of the parts...
If your Happy, and shred like a Mother Fkr, Clap your Fkn Hands.....

Seems like a smart move on their parts so long as they an epi or studio version too. Likely they were tired of losing business to ESP/ltd for the metulz market.

Maybe PRS can sue Gibson now! I mean, it was PRS's idea to come up with a Singlecut style guitar that you could actually play past the 17th fret.

Holy crap what were we just talking about today!!!!!!

Crap company owes me money :gethim:

I like the idea. I also think it will likely be stoopid expensive or low build quality if affordable. But... on the off chance they come up with a happy meduim between the two extremes... I may have to have one. Seriously, it shouldn't cost more than the average Standard model.

BTW --

Has anyone seen the reverse flying V? WTF is that?!@?!?!?!?!?!?!

Agreed - I have always wanted an LP - but can't handle the current high bridge. I will definitely, be buying one of these - assuming it cost less than a new car.
