Its about friggin time, Gibson stumbled on a great thing when the built the Neal Schon Sig, Ive always said that they should make it regular production...

To the dorks who think that a floyd on a Paul is sacrilege, get bent!!! Its the way it should be!!!! Im kidding( sort of, about the dork comment anyway, not the floyd) but the heel access is something that is YEARS late....

Definitly years late on the heel access. If i could have an LP with the extra access, without affecting the tone.. then id be all over it!!! The floyd is the icing on the cake

MANY MANY years late on the heal!!

I use my Monaco and a GMW during my weekly jams and yes the Monaco sounds huge but you have to fight that guitar half the time when you want to go past the 14th fret.......the forbidden zone as I call it for Gibson

It better be a long tenon to keep most of the tone.

Haha man i know EXACTLY what you mean!! My main guitar is my GMW, and i use my LP a lot too. The GMW is the 'Go To' guitar whenever i wana fire out crazy licks with no effort... the Gibson is the guitar when i need the fat Sykes type tone, but its not the easiest guitar to play ;)

Long tenon is a must, that would be a big factor for me either buying or not. Every LP i played with the long tenon has sounded and resonated better than ones without.

Hopefully it'll be a LP Custom with FR and carved neckjoint. That'd mean like ~$4500 streeprice for them in the USA. Wondering if they'll make that model without the normal neck angle because that'd cause the FR to be 2.73 miles above the body level.

That Zakk GMW I had, the trem was up there a bit due to the neck angle and it took getting used to.

I am thinking that the angle is different to get the floyd down.

Have Kage's Floyd Pauls got a different neck angle to keep the floyd down?

Indeed, Scott. That's why I was thinking about it. Hopefully they'll reduce guitar's neck angle or take it away completely to get the FR closer to body's level.

I bet it will cost $2500 minimum

Well, if it's a LP Custom with a FR and carved neckjoint, its streetprice will be probably somewhere near $4500.

Kages are through body necks and yeah the angle has to be different as his are recessed.

They had the M and U series already - just change the shape a bit, glue a fancy maple veneer on top - voila :D

Back in the 80's I remember seeing Kahler Les Paul's all over the place, lol :)

We used to buy the 70s Deluxe models with the mini buckers and route them to put full sized pups in

If I knew how much money people would throw at those today I would be laughing all the way to the bank while having 2-3 Herberts in my car

Scott and Dan, you probably didn't see my short Ultex-review in the JazzIII- thread.
I LOVE THOSE PICKS! Sweep picking felt easier, pick didn't start changing its angle when playing heavy rhythm stuff and you could feel guitar's strings thru the pick very well because they're so stiff. Couldn't say too much about the tone because strings in my guitar are dead so... Anyways, I prefer those to black JazzIIIs now and the best thing is that ultexes are almost 50% cheaper than black ones.

I used to have a top mounted Floyd that fit a Les Paul. It didn't require routing on the body. It just slid into the tailpiece posts that were already there. I never used it because I never had the nads to drill the holes necessary for the locking nut!

I use Stubby 2mm picks, the purple ones. I like the attack and you get that Gilbert definition in that you hear the pick attack.

The the purple pick dust looks cool on the RFR 550

Sounds like the LP's that Alex Lifeson's using. Floyd Rose and contoured heal and all.

Although I rip on Gibson, I'd like to check the Axcess out. Unfortunately, I don't think it will be a low-cost item.
