more on the V

the amp has the sweet compressed sponge factor i expected from the mark clean and leads, but it has tons of range, and channel 2 is really flexible.
we dialed in a toothy marshall dryness and zest with one setting, kinda into VHT territory, and then rolled into carlos/ford horn tones using radically different settings, and both were always musical and pleasant to the touch.

channel 3 was also very familiar in that you could shape the front edge of the attack envelope of the notes from sharp to round, yet still maintain clarity and stringiness on the follow through. and bubbly enough to reach for the legato runs without the amp quitting out on you while tracking the fluttery stuff.

the first thing i did was walk into the wizard booth and test drive the wizard modern full stack with a paul. great upper end valve tones..like if it were solid state, it would be too bright, but the valve factor smooths out the top end in a very pleasing way and delivers in in high powered charges

then off to plop down in front of scott henderson at the suhr booth and watch him tear his sig model a new one!
he just finished playing the hedgehog and i heard just a taste...thick in the lonestar mesa way...

saw scott lerner demoing the fuchs plush pedals.....tasty touch that guy has...and i like the plush drive pedal

saw eddie d at THD and dave simpson and josh sage?

hung at the eggie booth and played the rebel 30 1x12 combo, the renegade 50 2x12 combo, and the rebel 30? 4x10 combo.

gritty blues is the name of the game with those puppies, even though they can get a lot dirtier, and there is a nice sparkle on the top end.

Played the V
Really nice-what the IV should have been
Mark tones plus better Marshall presence on ch 2
No recto fizz
A namm winner!

The other 2 channel alchemist is very lonestar and mI like
Heard a Henderson play the suhr hedghog
Sounded fat for the minute I heard it
Thicker than badger

Played wizard for the first time
Tight and clear and articulate--no
Mud

Eggie rebel 30 and renegade were spanky and the new digiverb in the 30 rocked[/quote

Was there any new stuff from Wizard?

Pat definitely owns all with his ability to construct beautiful imagery with his writing.

No worries

Harumph....I find the mids flacid yet appaaaaaaaling in the upper registers. The bottom end is rounded, yet, holds a slight hint of tangy residuuuuee allowing the note to blossom so pleasantly. :D

Man I am really bummed this year, next year I will be there......................

Yeah I have heard something about pics.....................

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfX3Bjdq ... annel_page

ok part 1 is up...and i don't know yet if it will have a high quality option viewing option as youtube just "ingested" the video minutes ago--hot off the presses! (*update***high quality option available now!*)

fortunately for me, when *i* got to demo the mark V on the first day, there were way less people making noise and i had the mesa rep totally extracting the goods...this clip doesn't do as much justice to the tones in this thing although the clean channel came out ok in the first part..and randy/tweed can attest to how great just channel 2 sounds!

next video should have a more in depth hedgehog demo, the new budda amps, and our own boy van hellion/a wood bringing "it" on his beautiful suhr axe and the mighty diezel herbert!

i also found a lost file clip from last year of some sick and wrong player at the brown note booth getting oily on an instrument you need to see to believe.
