Cool little Sayce teaser there at the start....Ralphie ripping as usual....all is well in the World of NAMM.

I can only guess that Saturday was like packing the sum total of 100 GC location Saturday shredders into one room.

Thanks for the clippage
In the 20 odd years I have been attending namm, i can't remember ever going on a weekend after the first year. Way too insane!

Wait till you hear van hellion on the Herbert. Great player!
And the cam's condenser mic didn't really do justice to the mark V.
Tweed/ Randy went there like me, not expecting to be impressed with a boogie but it's really nice and Randy walked away convinced he was getting one.

I'd love one, which would be the first boogie since the triaxis came out that I liked.
I never liked the recto or mark IV or roadking or lonestar or stilleto....

.

Damn, my GAS level just exploded! I love my IV but it sounds like this is the dream amp for me! Was the Mark V there through V30's? Sounded great regardless, allowing for vid-cam/youtube foibles. Thanks for the video.

Saw Sayce open for Gilbert at the Viper, he is a great player for sure!

I have to hear the V for myself, loved the cleans but need to hear ch 2 and 3 in a more controlled enviroment.

Ya if I go next year it will be just thurs and Fri, the weekend is nuts.

Thanks Pat

ok part 1 is up...and i don't know yet if it will have a high quality option viewing option as youtube just "ingested" the video minutes ago--hot off the presses! (*update***high quality option available now!*)

fortunately for me, when *i* got to demo the mark V on the first day, there were way less people making noise and i had the mesa rep totally extracting the goods...this clip doesn't do as much justice to the tones in this thing although the clean channel came out ok in the first part..and randy/tweed can attest to how great just channel 2 sounds!

next video should have a more in depth hedgehog demo, the new budda amps, and our own boy van hellion/a wood bringing "it" on his beautiful suhr axe and the mighty diezel herbert!

i also found a lost file clip from last year of some sick and wrong player at the brown note booth getting oily on an instrument you need to see to believe.

Nice. But what the heck is THAT at 6:40?

Who's the guy playing at the beginning ("I've got no choice but to roll with the changes"? ) Loved his style!

That would be Sayce, Fuchs player as well unless he has gone elsewhere.

I take it you guys mean "Phillip" Sayce? Never heard of him! I'll check out his stuff, but liked that a lot. .(as for the Fuchs player part , the only guy I've seen play a Fuchs amp in concert was Jake Cinnenger (Sp?) from Umphrey's Mcgee and though he sounded fine tonewise , as in ok , he 's a KILLER guitarist with any amp . By the sounds of that Sayce clips I'm ABSOLUTELY sure he can make anything sound great. . So far the Randall clip is the best :)

ERIC

p.s. just checked out philipsayce.com for the 1st time . He sounds just like guys I used to like in the late 80's , i.e. IAN MOORE, STEVIE SALAS ,etc!!! (throw in some Charlie Sexton , Doyle Bramhall and Eric Gales) Same style singing and playing as those guys... Cool....

p.s.s THANKS for posting these PAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You've got that right! Saturday was the absolute worse day to go! The second floor was loud as fuck and sounded like a GC x 500, and to walk around it felt like you were cattle getting herded   The only way to get decent video is to probably go on Thursday/Friday. This was my first year going so maybe next year I'll know better :aww:

Loved both the Mk V and the Nuno. The Nuno sounds more aggressive than I would have thought.

Sayce is a good friend of one of my best friends in L.A., he is incredible no doubt. But he was WAY too loud at the fender fret fest thing last night, sorry if you're reading this phil, but...yikes, lol. Ralph sounded way better than that guy demoing the mkV in the other vid too, not surprisingly ;)

Ho bruddah cuz....that Andy Wood kid is quite the shred monkey. Fuck yeah

he's great and a really nice guy...there was so much more i wished i had filmed like the diezel schmidt, the wizard, the tone tubbies, more of the mark V, and the new reissue fenders, which sounded killer btw, and the latest eggies, but it's hard to play and film at the same time!!!

wish i had remembered the blankenship, or could have played the bogner goldfinger or pete thorn suhr amp...

next year!
