It wasn't until fairly recently that transgenderism was not considered a mental disorder. For someone to go through the full transitioning process was no easy task due to the end result being the removing of ones genitals and surgically creating the opposing gender's genitals - the patient was screened over and over again to ensure they were truly fraught with this disorder or whatever you would choose to call it. 2012 comes along and a whole lot of "change" began and the diagnosis was "gender dysphoria". 11 years later and here we are.

The American Psychiatric Association has revised its Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders and it no longer lists being transgender as a mental disorder, among other changes announced this past weekend.
Transgender people will now be diagnosed with "gender dysphoria," which means emotional stress related to gender identity."Gender identity disorder" had been listed as a mental disorder since the third edition of the DSM more than 20 years ago.

Do you folks realize the whole gender confusion with these people starts when they are children?

My mom told me for as long as she could remember she was more into boy things than girl stuff.
She wanted toy guns and soldiers at Christmas instead of dolls and kitchen toys.
She wanted her hair short and not like all the other girls. She hated dresses and skirts.

We're talking about A CHILD here.

In her day your parents tried beating it out of you. God made you a girl so you are a girl.... WHACK!

Did you guys know that the vast majority of dudes arrested for soliciting gay sex in theaters/bathrooms, etc.
are MARRIED MEN with families? Bet their parents tried the beating thing too.

My wife was a Tom boy. Grew up in the garage with her pop. My water pump went out on my minivan and she changed it while I was at work. And you have to pull the motor mounts and jack the engine up to get it. She tore my roof off in one day while I was working so I could shingle it the next day. She removed every air duct in my attic, cleaned them all with a power washer, re- insulated them and re-installed them. Then rebuilt my 50 year old furnace. When we got married she didn’t want a diamond ring. She wanted a Benchmade knife. Guess what. She’s hotter than a microwave oven and VERY heterosexual.

This is true, yes - the issue is, though, those truly born with the transgender disorder are very, very few and what we are seeing now are effeminate gay boys and butch (for lack of a better word) girls being told via social media and a host of other places (teachers, even, as we've seen) that they're transgender when they really are not. Add in the herd mentality aspect where it is an in thing with kids and adults lately to embrace for attention or fad or what have you and now we have this supposed trans explosion when it really is not organic in any way (the explosion of people claiming to be "trans", that is).

Again, in years past no one would have been approved for gender reassignment therapy or surgery without EXTENSIVE psychiatric screening and diagnosis yet now children and adults are being approved left and right. Misdiagnosis and further, mistreatment of a patient can have drastic consequences.
