I've been looking for a vertical slant 2x12 for live use as my EVH 2x12 was just too hard to hear. Angling it helped, but I was wanting to try something new anyway.

I snagged this off the used GC site, and it arrived SUPER well packed. Kudos to the store in Richmond, VA!

It sounded good with the V30's, but GREAT with a Scumback BM75 on top and an M75 on the bottom! Definitely brighter than the EVH cab but still full and rich sounding.

I have two gigs over the holiday weekend, and I'm stoked to break this in!

I gave a vertical, off-set 2x12 to a buddy of mine, as it was just eating space and I was no longer using it. Plugged in and played through it the other day. Glad he has it, for sure, but giving it away was a mistake lol funny how much a different cabinet's materials, build quality, etc can affect the response and sound of the speakers. Hope it works well for you! Always remember that if the highs get to be too much for home use, you can pin some foam/eggcrate circles in front of each speaker to diffuse the sound a bit :)

Nice snag!! How heavy are the 2x12 Friedman cabs? I use a 5150-III 2x12 and have a Friedman 1x12. Both are great and the Friedman 1x12 low end is amazing.

They're listed at 64 lbs, but that's with V30s. With the Scumbacks it should be a little lighter.

So how “big” does it sound? And how would you compare it to other cabs?

I used at rehearsal last night with my mini BE and I was really shocked at how good they both sounded!

I much preferred it to my EVH 2x12 loaded with the same speakers- definitely a bit brighter and MUCH easier to hear due to the slant. Plenty of punch and low end.

I haven't had the chance to compare it to my Splawn 4x12- but it IS lighter! :ROFLMAO:

I’ve got the Friedman horizontal. The design for that one enables it to punch more than some 4x12s I’ve compared it against. It must be that port. More bloom and 3d.

So I’m really curious how it compares bc the other thing I noticed is it’s 14” depth on the vertical and overall more internal space compared to the Friedman horizontal.

I’ve been considering going a diagonal 2x12 again but may need to consider this vertical.

Final follow up- I used it for a two night engagement over the holiday weekend and it KILLED!

I'm sure the Scumbacks are part of it, but the cab was punchy, warm, and cutting at the same time. Just a blast to play! And I had NO problem hearing myself.

As an added "you gotta be shitting me" bonusI literally had two guitarists come up separately and compliment me on the tonaz I was getting.

Lots of win with the Friedman cab!

If you don't mind, what did you pay?

I have several cabs, most with Redbacks since rhwy are my all time favorite speaker but if love a Friedman loaded with some. .
Can't afford new. :(

I bought it for around 8 bills shipped. Agreed, used is the way to go!
