Hello all, came here to seek for help as I can't seem to fix a few issues with my Jerry Cantrell Tribute rampage. When I use the tremolo arm, after a dive all the strings will go flat but after a pull up most of the strings returns to pitch except the B and high E string. Also when I bend the D string on the 5th fret a semi tone up with or without the string clamps, all the strings becomes flat... I have to either re tune the guitar or pull up on the arm a little to some what return the strings to pitch.

I've tried changing the strings, putting a bend at the ball end like mentioned here, making the tremolo back part level with the mounting plate mentioned here, making sure all the rollers are rolling during the string change and stretched the strings after stringing.

If anyone knows how to remedy this please leave a reply. Below are pictures that hopefully might give more insight into how to fix this. Thank you all :)

Bring your string tree down so the Low E is level going into it. Solder your string windings. Put a little big bends where the string makes contact with the bridge coming out of the string insert slots. You can just loosen your strings enough to slide them out. Make sure your cam is lubed. Install the arm. You want the arm to shaft to be a little more toward back.

Make sure the lock nut is tight, that will cause problems if it's not clamping properly.

Do you mean bring the string retainer bar down? As for soldering the strings, I read on other forums that some had no problems even when they don't solder their strings. I would prefer not to solder too as I have no experience in soldering. I am already doing that before restringing, I bend that area about 45 degrees. Lubing the cam and rollers is something I plan to do in the future as I am not to sure where exactly to lube right now. Please show me if you know where. I am not very sure what you mean by that, maybe you can take a picture to show me?

How tight should it be? Because right now I tighten it with my hands until it is tight like I can't turn it with my fingers anymore then I use a hex key to tighten it to the point where I need to use strength/yank it to tighten even more.

Correct with the bar. The E strings should e level going into retainer to give you a good break angle. The last Kahler I had I took apart completely, cleaned and lubed appropriately. I did solder the string windings. That sucker returned to tune on a strobe tuner.

How would you recommend adjusting the string retainer bar btw? Is it better to remove the strings completely or loosen the strings and adjust with them loose?

Unclamp nut, loosen strings some and tighten down.

Alright, I have it like that now, have yet to see if it helps with tuning stability but its late now. Will try later and update :)
It won;t fix your issue. That is the bridge. It can't hurt though. Swap around your nut clamps as well. Put High E side clamp on Low E side, etc..

The simple way to check if you're clamping the strings tight enough at the nut is to use the tuners - if the pitch changes, the nut isn't properly locked.

Alright I'll be sure to do that.

It'll be ok if I just turn it a little right? I'm kinda paranoid not to move the tuning pegs as much as possible when the nut is locked as I'm afraid of breaking the strings or damaging the clamps.
