Fryette sucks at customer support it seems, called several dealers and they all told me even they can`t have support for repairs at their shops. Really is a shame.

So, my problem is that my clean channel volume pot is acting up, cracks and becomes super loud at like 8 o`clock and then drops and then no sound. Cranked and it is super quiet. So i guess it needs changing.

Do any of you guys know what type is used? It is a 2003 UL. And where i could get one or two.....

Thanks.

Chris

I had a bad exp. with them too cant imagine buying one of their amps for any reason ..the customer service is the worst there is..non existent... tell me they cant hire someone to answer phones and questions? get out of the biz if thats the case... you should be able to see what it is by removing the chassis and looking at it...dont touch anything or you could die...for real

Yep, guess i will have to poke inside and see. I know how to discharge the caps and check for voltage lurking in there.

To bad this is the way they choose to do business, not a role model by any means huh?

Thanks for your input man.

Sounds like it just needs a cleaning. Pull the chassis, grab some contact cleaner and spray a little in the hole in the back of the pot while turning it back and forth. Should take care if it.

They took awesome care of me. I think the guy I dealt with was Dave, Had my amp fixed and updated in one day and shipped back.

Yeah was thinking of trying that too. But in the worst case, i wanna be prepared with spare parts just in case. I'm sure these are not expensive.

I'll report when i tried this.

Thanks

Dave is an asshole. He and I tried to troubleshoot an issue with tubes blowing every 2-3 months. After we tried everything I sent it to the, to be fixed. Came back same issue. He blamed me for having a bad cabinet or cable. Tried three different cabs and they all blew tubes. They got frustrated and stopped contacting me. No tube warranty either. Never saw a replacement. Fryette has been going down for years. I tried warning people before they jumped on the gpdi, but people bought it and now they're money is financing his other ventures to keep him afloat. I really hate those guys. Especially Dave. He once told me Dimebag wasn't a real metal player because he used solid state amps!!

Lol, yeah i heard that statment before.

I had an issue 7-8 years ago with tubes and they sent me a quad for free, i was impressed then. But now, i dont get it. They went downhill with customer support.

Too bad. But i still love my UL.

I've had a switching problem on my Sig X since November, making the boost unusable (goes to lead boosted and all of the LEDs on the amp light up, regardless of the intended channel boosted).

They said it's a problem with a chip then have gone radio silent. I've got the amp at a tech now. He's trying to contact them to no avail as well. It is really disappointing. What's the point of having a great amp if you can't rely on it or get it fixed when needed?

I may try emailing Steve or Eriko in the next couple days to see if they may help out.
