Went through the same thing once - minus the road rash - full winter gear. Lucky. I usually road in shorts, no helmet. I think most bikers have this happen.

My wife really wants us to get a couple of bikes and stuff like this makes me not want to do it. I used to ride back in my 20s and the number of times I got cut off by cars that never saw me finally got me to sell mine... It just wasn't worth the risk anymore on the crowded LA freeways...

This for me as well, but even in "not that crowded" Ohio. Loved riding, but just had a few scares along the way and sold the bike.
