So a couple of weeks ago I sold a pedal on eBay. The funds cleared and I shipped the pedal. The pedal got shipped back stating the address did not exist. I sent the buyer several emails with no response. I called ebay and made them aware of the situation. I called the buyer, left voicemails and....nothing.

What is interesting is the following. The buyer just opened an eBay account that day and bought the pedal. Of course he had zero feedback.

What should I do???? :dunno: I made every attempt to contact the buyer . Look forward to hearing from you guys.

I thought about that since I have damn near daily contacted this guy/gal. So I guess I should white flag this and just wait?

What did eBay have to say about it when you contacted them?

Refund his $ and sell it elsewhere. If you've done everything you can to get hold of the guy and nothing, then that's pretty much it.

Keeping his $ and selling the pedal would be a dick move.

eBay said to call him. They said if the buyer opens an item not received case they have the record of my call to them and the item is tagged. I also have the records of my calls.

As far as keeping the cash and reselling it? I agreed with Steve purely out of frustration. I think the plan would be is to resell the item then, refund the $ so I am not out. I just do not get how a buyer who bought an item goes cold  !

It takes effort to go the extra mile and do the right thing. But that what makes the bigger man. Refund the money and move on.

If u refund the money I guess you eat the shipping cost??

Hopefully Steve was kidding....I would just keep trying. But refunding the money is the right thing to do if he doesn't respond to you. I ebayed for 6 years with no issues, until I had a big issue....scam. Now after that experience no more eBay or PayPal for me. As a seller its just not worth it. Good luck!

 Move on

Since he could still leave you neg feedback,I would refund the money less shipping and then cancel the transaction. Then you get refunded the fees and he has no recourse down the road.

You are 100% correct to say this and I have to apologize for my horrendous response... .

I answered this really quickly when I had just a few minutes to peruse the board and for whatever reason I just wasn't thinking that he could (and should) easily refund the money the guy paid and THEN re-sell. All I was thinking about was that he had done more than enough in terms of contacting the guy. I would never keep someone's money without delivering what they bought, I would refund (after reasonable attempts to contact said person failed) and then re-sell.

Terrible advice I gave...Sorry folks - as I said, I just wasn't thinking in my quick reply. Hope you understand....
