Neunaber Neuron thoughts?

Got one of these used to try, still waiting.

Few opinions out there, not many that great but I had to try it out for myself secondary to the midi control.

Hoping it can fully serve as:

Pre dist EQ
OD
Lead boost
Compressor
Gate (in front of amp)
Clean “channel” preamp

Doubt I will get along with it versus analog BUT hoping I do and it gets 5 other pedals off of my board...

Anyone like it? Hate it? Sounds like mixrochipzzz?!

Ha, got it and love it so far for everything above.

It takes some time figuring out but is really pleasing to me.

I’ll need more time with it before it kicks four pedals off of my board AND takes over clean preamp duties, but thus far seems promising. I love the added noise gate as well.

I think the pedal CAN be dialed poorly and it is imperative to set the tilt eq properly. I set the pedal to be as flat as possible (unorthodox knobs positions) and the set the tilt which worked perfectly.

IMO there are few demos that do it true justice and most focus on DI sounds.

I wish the exact frequency/eq type data was available to have a better understanding of what is happening. I may head to a buddy’s studio to scope it and figure it out.

I did try the cab sim with headphones and thought it was great for that use.

Haven’t touched the midi yet, but expect no issues.

I can see what neunaber is talking about when he mentions improvement not modeling of existing tones, Id wager these are “better” sounds than what we are used to, smoother as he describes.
