Iommi, I'm massive fanboy since '76. Got everything listened to everything, loved it all. My playing, I thought I had every mannerism every nuance of his down. It was part of my style.
Never saw Sabbath until March 4, 1994 Universal Amphitheatre I didn't have tickets, that's what I did back then it was a hobby, got the idea from a buddy of mine and since that point I don't know I went to maybe 20 or 30 shows after that. Before cucking out again and buying tickets again cuz you know, I'm going with my girl or whoever.
My two buddies that night were too much of a pussy to go along. I told them to grab them fucking pussies and climb this 15 ft fence with me.
Anyhows, they were scared Mike said he'd or or they would wait for me to leave and I would meet me in the bar so I can get a ride home, yeah that didn't happen, but I worked it out. Got in of course, scanned the sit pushed my way to being right in front of Iommi's guitar cabinets. No security monkeys in between me and the stage no barricade of any kind, cool
Let's go down for a bit, lights come back Iommi in pure legend mode. Listening to him right in front of him and not really even watching him or anyone else really, I was stunned, fucking blown away. With all I thought I knew about his technique... I was I was missing a major bit. This dude, I don't know if it's the fingertips you know, the two plastic fingertips or whatever, I doubt it. He did this inimitable vibrato on some of the notes that I sure didn't expect I hadn't heard this before, I didn't know it existed in him. Incredible. It left me shaking my head, still do and I think about it it today's it was right in front of me all along.
I'm I'm so much of a fanboy that when I saw Black Sabbath with Oz you know the whole original band in Vegas I only was staying at the New York New York you know hotel casino and me and my girl and her son was just walking I think he was walking to go out somewhere and I only was walking in with like I don't know five or six people mainly girls hot girls fucking smoking hot girls, I walked right outside and I fucking Tony iommi, good to see you man, he's like, hey man what's going on what you guys up to, I said just checking you out tonight can't wait fucking going to be great he's like thanks man thanks man see you there well I didn't have of course. Didn't try even. But I think now that between running into I only or Ozzy and the exact same way I don't think I would even talk to Ozzy at all not that I don't love him or do you style or you know so much about him it's just now think so I don't I don't think I would know now if he was with someone else hahaha that uh... Maybe was looking pretty good ahhh, things might have been different. Ha

Dude never got the opportunity. I don't know if you ever read some of my other posts, but I would literally do anything to go, but I don't do that, extra credit if you know the reference. ha

Man great story . Love it . Dude Ionmmi in 1992 on dehumanizer tour he was fucking in fire lead wise
Listen to how he played the solo here inn1992 with ozz reunion
The way he played this solo is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

^^^ Yeah, killer... saw them with my girl(my replies on here have been really glitchy, Monkey, do something already adding or taking away words or whole sentences or phrases even this time it changed girl from girl to gorilla, Ha) well my girl, and her son at the Thomas Mack center January 2nd '97.
I bought the tape of Dehumanizer when it came out, always went back to After All as my favorite on there.

I said in a different post I believe, talking about meeting Iommi at the New York New York hotel casino and me giving off an a let's go attitude to him. He definitely did that night! Bill was perfect Geezer fantastic as always. He did give Oz the side eye a couple of times that night once in particular was when he was trying to get the audience to to make a noise imitating the Iron Man Iommi main theme to that song. After a couple of times encouraging everybody they started doing it super loud it was way cool it was funny as shit.
Tony's looking over at Oz going going what the heck? But then you he kinda started laughing too. Then when Tony would go into that line every time he would do that Ozzy would get the crowd going again and it was super loud, overpowering Tony only even. I don't recall hearing him doing that before, I don't know, may have been a brand new thing that night or that was just a bit.
Tony's response seemed genuine so I'm thinking it started that night. It was a super cool show on the bill it was - Type O Negative, Fear Factory Pantera, and Sabbath. We missed the first two, would have loved hearing Dino's sound in person but alas, we were fucking around drinking and trying to get there on time and fighting and worming our way through heavy Vegas traffic.
We got there well before Pantera came on though so that's pretty cool. So what time is it then? more beers of course We had been drinking alcohol I guess this was a step down, but that 's all they had. Fucking Pantera, unreal. I was kind of surprised though dimebag was kind of pretty sloppy and slow on his leads, didn't seem right at all. Never heard that before. Phil was ripping the audience's throats out with insults kinda scaring them. That was hilarious, fucking with them. Phil didn't seem heroin jacked either so that was cool. Dime had that whole Randall warhead shit going on with all those Randall 412s and 1-18'" cabinets. They sounded huge for sure. During that whole time Pantera was on my girl was gone waiting in a line to get more beer, which yeah, I Dug and all I just wish she would have seen the show a little bit. When the lights come up after Pantera I asked her what's going on here with all this getting beer thing. She's like blah blah I don't even remember, but I know somewhere in there she was like yeah, but you like the beer right? I said when Sabbath comes on I don't want her doing that I told her again. Sit and watch the show with us and enjoy. Well Ssbbath comes on and almost immediately she's off to get some more beers. I didn't realize how bad my girl was about starting drinking and being unable to slow down at all and I found that out about that later in some funny situations. But yeah, fucking Sabbath was killer the intro, the music intro, the smoke the small candelabras the fires, kick-ass set, everything. It was perfect. Oz was doing his usual shit of playing hype man while Tony was doing his leads, distracting the crowd and trying I guess, the distract Tony in some way. Cuz I had read somewhere that Tony talk to Ozzy a bunch of times telling him look mate, I don't rush the front of the stage when you are singing, trying to take over the audience, you shouldn't be rushing me while I'm doing my thing with that nonsense you're doing knock it off. Well Ozzy, I guess isn't that big on paying heed, he's just going to do what he wants and with Sharon's encouragement no doubt. He probably told Sharon Tony wants me to do this or that and she was like Oz just do whatever you want he's never seen sales of tickets like this before, he's probably not going to mention it again and if he does tell him the fuck off, he won't do anything about it anyway, he's under contract. So yeah, blast of the night

Tony is the man. Always classy.

I saw them on the reunion tour in '99 twice. 1st was at the opener of the tour, 2nd the closer.

The opener was at either nassau coliseum or MSG, i forget. There was an opening band, Pantera, then sabbath.
I dont remember anything about the first band.
Pantera killed it, but Sabs blew it up! Ozzy came in a bar too early in war pigs, and iommi just chuckled and shook his head.
Most memorable part of the show was a guy standing at the railing below me, about 50 feet away. Well he had on a dark shirt with the letters ozzy on it in 1"wide letters. I thought "cool."
It wasn't until i passed by him to take a leak that I saw he wasn't wearing a shirt at all.
It was shaved into his back hair!!!!!!
Both awesome and gross at the same time.

The closer was at Jones beach theater. Ozzy was shot at this point. His singing was more like yelling. Iommi had to do an extended solo that show because of it, so that was cool.
Most memorable part? When the encore ended and everyone was leaving, ozzy came stumbling out of stage right. He was looking at the crowd like "what just happened" or in a daze.

Good times.

Sorry to burst your thought bubble but some fan you are :D
I missed a lot in the 80s because I was 1)”busy” starting a career and 2) broke as fuck. Even though general admission tickets were ~12-15 bucks, I was not going to suck wieners for play money. Sure, I was able to catch some good shows BUT I think more of what I missed. 😕.
Point is: better late than never for you.
