Here's the essential info:

- 2xEL34 [50 watts]
- 4x12AX7 [pre and PI]
- single-channel with two modes accessible via front-panel switch
- low-gain mode approximates JCM800 in terms of gain and tones [3 gain stages in pre]
- high-gain mode adds a fourth gain stage
- Metro ZL effects loop to be added once I finish tweaking design

I'm quite happy with this one so far. It is the highest-gain amp that I've designed.

I'm diggin' this amp so far. It really slays! I could stop tweaking already, but I probably won't.

Why buy a Billy Blades Lopper for $3k when you can get the original Denogginizer for $1.5k? Mine comes with the non-electrocution option too.

I thought I'd provide an update on this amp. The stock amp had two modes: vintage (three gain stages) and modern (four gain stages). The stock amp also had a front-panel Punch switch that added some gain by switching in and out a cathode bypass cap (kinda like structure/S switches on other amps).

The owner (a local player) loves the modern setting, but he asked me to make the vintage mode more like a plexi than a JCM800. In design terms, this loosely means having two gain stages instead of three. So I rewired shit to achieve the following settings:

1. vintage mode and punch off = two gain stages, like a 1987x (although not a tone clone)
2. vintage mode and punch on = three gain stages, like* a 2204 (ditto to above)
3. modern mode and punch off = three gain stages, like an Egnater seminar amp (and tonnes of other hot-rodded JCM800s)
4. modern mode and punch on = four gain stages (full-on Denogginizer, mofos)

Thank you, Jeff.
BTW, I am not going to charge the owner for this mod... because it was a nice challenge. :)
