Is Cameron's Marshall "Ocean" mod considered high-gain? If yes... I love that sound. R/T's mods sound great too. I think it's the 'modern' high-gain sound that I don't like. If super-tight/dry = modern, than no... I don't like that sound. I think the SLO is where I draw the line on modern high-gain. I had a CAE PT-100 that gave excellent cleans, but the gain channel was too tight. Same with the Splawn QR.

Honestly for me it was between that and the Evil Pumpkin for me, I think I made the right choice, the last few Marshall’s he’s put out sound out of this world

Guess it depends on what you like. From the description of what you wanted this amp seems like it fits the bill. Insanely tight sounding, this is to me the best Hermansson clip ive heard.

I would have chosen the EP over this but I just liked that EP tone better from the vids, just sounds more modern and to me Hermansson amp are kinda spikey/harsh sounding.

The EP sounds amazing to me BUT it doesn't seem like they're ever coming out and screw waiting haha. But yeah anyway you said tight and this one delivers in spades, definitely one of the tightest amps I've heard.

Honestly I’m no longer floored by the NAMM clips of the EP (I would never judge an amp off NAMM clips though lol). To me it had some weird low mids that I didn’t really dig. Granted when (IF) they come out I will still be tempted by it.

Also I think Henric has the mids nearly cranked on this one
