Well ???????????????????

I ordered the exact same head and matching closed back 1x12 last week !

I love the Budda SD80. Enjoy your 18 watter. Budda makes some wonderful amps.

I've always wanted to get one of those. 18w seems like such a good size amp to own. But I've never been able to justify buying one. Oh, I could spend the money on other stuff, but for whatever reason the Budda just didn't call my name loud enough.

I played an SD 30 II 1-12 combo a few months back. It's a badass amp and good price- the combo was 1350 at the store I was at. Enjoy your Budda.

Well I find that the SD18 has a nice chimey clean with a little dirt playing at band levels. The drive channel is very unique sounding with the mid pushed in. It has a very thick focused mid thing going on, with some bite. IMO when you pull the mids for modern, it sounds more "generic" sounding, maybe more marshally. Not alot of bottom end, but I think thats what the bassist is for, and should be easier to hear know. It sits real nice in a band mix with 2 guitars. Seems to be plenty loud with the 4x12. I have the master up around 1 o'clock. I was supposed to have a gig this past weekend but things got screwed up with the booking so I didn't get to try on stage.

What speakers are in your 4x12. I hear the Budda Phat 12 speakers produce bass to spare (even with the 18).

I'm using Eminence V12s. I think I want to try something else. These seem to make every amp I've used them with smooth, and a tad dark. I'd like something with a little more grit (grainy), and a little more bite.

I agree totally with that. They are great speakers, but not for a smooth/dark amp. I would suggest the cheap Warehouse Classic Leads. They have a bit of grit in the mids and a load of low end. Very articulate as well.

Well I just finished playing it again (only the second time), and WOW. I must of been using a bad cord on Thursday or something. On Thursday I didn't think it was a keeper. I was really wondering what all the hype was about. The cleans were nice, but the drive channel was really dull, compressed, with no low end and no bite. BUT TODAY. The master at 9:00 was louder than when it was at 1:00 last time. The bass was there. It had a very nice bite. And it was oh so clear. NOW I get the hype. I definatly think its a keeper. At least until the next G.A.S. attack.

I don't think a cord would make that big of a difference. Was it bought new or used ?? Maybe some sort of a tube problem.

I think maybe one of my cords wasn't all the way in somewhere in my chain or something stupid like that :aww:  I bought the amp of Ebay from somewone with 100% feedback with over 2000 transactions (I think). He said it was a store demo that was never plugged into. He said he took it home for a few days to try it out. All I know is that it sounded great last night. On second thought I'm now thinking it could have something to do with my toggle switch on my LP. In the past there have been a few times that I wasn't getting fulll power from my pickups when I switched quickly, and would have to go back and switch slowly. Time for a new toggle.

You wouldn't be planning on making any clips, would you?

The 18 watter is on my short list of amps I'm interested in...

No recording gear. But I'll see if I can get some crappy video at one of next weeks gigs.
