It was shipped today. I'm pretty anxious so I'm posting a bit early. I couldn't wait because I wanted to share how amazing this thing is.

The ISP Vector SL.

I've seen Tom and Rotting Corpse talking it up off and on for a while now and I've always been curious.

There was this awesome gearfest in KC last weekend (through the GAB forum) and Tom was cool enough to bring his Sub along with some killer, killer amps.

I brought my Rev 2 Uber and Mills 4x12 and ended up hooking up the sub to it. UN-freaking-believable. This was the missing link to my rig hands down. It didn't change my tone but it gave my sound a giant kick in the balls. Completely crushing. You could feel it in your ribs and the ceiling was shaking.

Another thing is that I typically need a boost. Even with my Rev 2 I need just a little more. I dont like to max out gain on amps so my gain at noon and a Koko boost is what I like. The thing I still can't wrap my head around is that with this Sub, I plugged straight in. No pedals and I was just amazed. I definitely plan to test but I'm thinking I can ditch my Boost and noise gate now. TBD......

I've heard there are lots of non believers but I have to say if you have not personally tried one you have no idea what you're missing. Even if you have "your tone" this thing will make it better. I imagine that it excels with the metal tones but I can attest that even with cleans the sub does wonders. This fest was mostly blues or rock players (some who can really rape the guitar) and everyone in the room was impressed.

To each their own I suppose but if you can find one, do not hesitate. Or at least call me so I can try to buy :)

Grats man! I got to say I'm pretty damn curious. You got to post clips when your all setup.

Awesome! I really want to try one. Does ISP still make them or am I going to have to start tracking one down? :D

Thanks man. I will post some shitty potato clips but without being in the room and feeling this thing idk if that will do it justice. Tom has a bunch of clips on youtube "Thesubmancometh" but Idk if there are any on/off demos.

dude you are in Houston....There is one on Austin Craigslist right now for $500. That is a steal imo. The guy wouldn't ship it so I paid a good amount more for mine on Reverb.

They are no longer made and the only other two available right now are being sold by Deftones guitarist for $1,100 plus freight shipping on eBay. Although those come with the road case.

I would absolutely be on my way to Austin if I were you lol. I actually considered driving there from St. Louis but that's 12 hours each way and at least a $250 trip so I decided to pay a little more for delivery.

-sweet!!- is there a cross-over in the SUB circuit?
There is. I think it's auto and you can adjust with the level control and ohm selector. When I played it I didn't mess with the level but it was set to 75%. It has a 600w 3 way power amp.

Peavey just released a couple of these. The one is 600w I think as well and an 18" speaker but I read you need to run it through the FX loop to activate the crossover. I didn't like the sound of that plus the ISP is the one I played so I didn't want to gamble. Had my mind set on the ISP. The peavey is much cheaper new than the ISP was though. I'd be curious to try.

Very cool! I've been wanting to try the 400W 2x10 sub that fits perfectly under most 1x12s. Seems like it would sound huge for such a small footprint.

I've heard that one is great too. Not as huge low end and much tighter than the 1x15"

Needs more Meshuggah...

Considering that it was designed in collaboration with Steve Lukather, the guitarist from Toto...I'll just assume you've never tried one and are just looking for something to bash lol.

Yeah, it's amazing for metal..even though I'm not into Meshugga, don't djent and I use a 6 string. This Sub is also amazing for blues, rock and cleans as well. Makes everything fuller and bigger. Guess you need to actually play through one to appreciate.

   n Must be cool indeed!

Yes, definitely.

It arrived yesterday. Going to pick up my amp today from my drummer and play around with it. When I tested it out I only played it one way. With my 4x12 straight into the amp and with the crossover bypassed.

Lots of testing to do with cabs, pedals and the crossover.

Boy you Rug-Talkers are getting more sensitive than the cork sniffers on TGP. Wasn't Toto that band from Africa with the Where's Waldo dude on drums?

IT WAS A FUCKING JOKE DUDE! Lighten up.

I've owned one of these and a Los Lobottom from Rivera. Sounded great in the basement but got lost on a stage. But as with anything it's my experience.

Haven't played a show with it yet so Idk but I guess you've tried and it's not your thing.

That was a horrible joke btw but I guess it's hard to read dry from text.

I got one and it is an absolute piece of shit, so much bass i fired the bass player and and un miked the bass drums. Had to tune up a whole tone from A 440.

Typical Harmony Central response.........rig talk following not to far behind......people are sensitive lately

Ha ha, just messing here. I just love it too, makes the sound 3 D and full. Bass is clear and un cluttered. Cleans sound stellar also.

Been a while sinced i played with it though, we jam in my garage now, big rig is in the baseent.

I don't run mine anywhere near as high as Tom does, but it still does the 3D thing at lower volumes. I only run mine at about 50%.

I use the crossover to remove the bottom from my guitar cabs. I will run the subs volume higher, and the amps bass knob lower,if the amps bottom end gets loose at higher bass settings. This is a huge advantage these subs will afford to a room with lots of amps in it...And also how I justify having 3 of them.

I got one of the first ones ISP shipped way back in 06 or so. It is still kicking hard. Solid built stuff. I prefer to have the rubber feet in contact with the floor over using the wheels.

BE AVISED! If you put your amps cab AND head on top of the sub,you run the risk of them "walking" off and falling during heavy chugging. We watched my Herbert march it's way to the edge like a lemming at one of our amp fests. Pretty sure that one of the reasons Tom keeps his heads on shelves, well away from his cabs.

Hope you enjoy your new sub as much as we do.

All of Tom's clips where he's using his sub sound monstrous.

glad you found one, they are awesome, and i sold one to rotting corpse, congrats!

So this this is basically like hooking up 2 cabs to your amp? I didn't even know they made these. Can't imagine needing more bass then what you can get with a good 4x12.

Being a Navy Submariner that thought didn't cross my mind. Haha
