Amazed at how much this guy sounds like Ronnie James DIO:

He's using combo amps and it sounds like it.. He should have at least 1-4x12 on the stage.. The singer is strong.

RB doesn't seem like he's into it that much. His wife is on the stage.

That was my first thought, listening to a few clips. Small amp sound.

He doesnt look that much into it. I am a huge rainbow/dio era fan and this was uninspiring to say the least. For some reason, I expected more emotion from R.B.

That singer sounds really good IMO. I was hoping it would be a bit more energetic, even though Blackmore is in his 70's now. Groove just needs to be pushed a bit. The other clips I heard sounded the same.

Seen them live yesterday and the show was amazing. The singer was to me a question mark before the show, but he did an unbelievable good job. He is in the same league as the former Rainbow singers. What more can one say.

I wasn't too amazed by the drummer though. He does a great Paice but not a great Powell if you ask me. But that was a minimal issue.

Ritchie was very cool. I think he enjoyed the evening and I am so much hoping he will continue with Rainbow. We need someone saving Rock music desperately as Country is the new direction the music industry tries to push us.
Btw his sound wasn't lacking anything to my ears. The live sound is always different than recorded on a phone. But Ritchie's guitar sound moved away from a plain Marshal trough 4x12 long ago. Funny detail: he used his tape machine for delay and boost as in the old days (or it was just decoration?). Was surprised by that.

Anyways great concert and I am thankful that I was able to see Rainbow live at least once in my lifetime now as I unfortunately missed them till now.

Not just Ronnie James...mistreated and a couple others....does a great job

the surrounding band seemed not at the same level, ie drummer. The singer was great, but most already knew that for a while.

Well that was uninspiring.
The singer was great but the rest of them sounded like they were on downers.
The vid was terrible but you could still hear they had no energy. The solo was very disappointing.

Awesome! Thanks for the report. Rainbow with Dio and Cozy Powell was my favorite hard rock band and I am so glad they are doing this. I thought they sounded great all things considered!

Well done to the singer, a great effort.

Other than that, this is a pale shadow of what Rainbow was.

Should have left it alone...

New singer is so good but something lacking...maybe the wall of Marshals....maybe Cozy Powell!

dont know much about the drummer or the bassist in terms of their core backgrounds but they are in Blackmore's night.

Me either ... and we all know Ritchie doesn't suffer fools...or anyone! :-)

i can appreciate in his day he was a pioneer but wow he came across pretty nozzle-y

now he tromps around the forrest playing a lute on mushroom with friar tuck selling crafts. lost his cotton-pickin mind.
