That is a BADASS build going on there ! I have thought about getting the body blanks to do this, but it would take me forever! I have 90% of the tools to do it but gotta be careful laying it out,,I will follow this to the end,I can say you are doing an amazing job!

I went down to one of the local hardwood shops and picked out a piece of the best looking walnut I could find, my buddy had the Bubinga which was originally intended to be the back of an acoustic. Glad he let me snag it. Go look at woods, it's inspiring. Just take your time and do it right, I'm in no rush for any part of the build. Thanks for the compliment, I didn't think it would come out nearly this good, lots of sanding and coats left to do

Wow, nice work!

Thank you, still lots of work left, but definitely passed the midway point, this will be my first tele style guitar, never wanted a traditional tele, not metal enough.

Did some tint on the back of the neck, and nitro, these are probably the final coats on the neck

Few more coats of nitro on the body, still have more sanding and coats to do to fill in the grain

Up close on the back of the head stock, the neck is so shiny and smooth, I may not even finish sand and buff it

Electronics cover with some nitro, love the contrasts

Oh my!!! That's a stunner man!

Thanks! Wound up doing a push/pull pot for splitting. Probably gonna go with chrome knobs, finish up the nut etc

That looks amazing!

Thank you! Many hours went into this build, and I didn't even make the neck! Makes a person realize why the handmade guitars are so expensive. If I were going to sell this and be able to make $, I'd have to sell it for like $4k, so it's good that I made it for myself instead.

Looking really nice!!

Congrats on the progress

Nothing at all against the way your's turned out because its looks awesome, and I know everyone has their preference, but glossed back of neck :(

Now that I have found the magic solution for crappy sticky gloss necks, i like them just the same! I used to think the same way, my first build has a tung oiled neck, same with my Carvin that I had built from scratch.

Man that guitar is killer amazing job .

Thank you! With the right tools it's easier than most people think. It takes more time than I'd like, bit that's the name of the game

Finally, all done! I wired it with a push/pull pot for single coil splitting. I did the opposite of normal though, when it's pushed down its in single coil mode, you have to pull up to get to humbucking mode. Since the telecaster is more traditionally a single coil instrument, I thought it would be cool to do it this way.

Now I just gotta wait for the strings to settle in, so I can see how the TT frets are. Initial impression is that they're more intonated than normal frets, but with strings still stretching it's hard to tell for sure.

Thanks everyone for following along! This has been a fun build, can't wait to do another!
