I also agree and I was a huge DT fan from I&W up to Octavarium, which is not that great although I did like Train of Thought a lot!!! A new singer would also be a good thing as well as a new keyboard player as someone else posted.

You jersey boys really are slow, huh? I never had a problem with his opinion. It actually had more to do with being called a "douche" because he couldn't accept mine. Read between the lines, danyeo.

DT hasn't been all that interesting since Awake, when there was someone there (Moore) to reign in Petrucci's and Portnoy's dick wagging. SFAM was pretty good, and 6DOIT was tolerable. But everything after that is a snooze. And like a sucker I keep buying every one, hoping that things will change.

Porcupine Tree and Opeth are far more interesting, both compositionally and lyrically.

Well said!!!! And I also buy every one of their releases and have a majority of their stuff including the bootleg series.

I think the removal of Portnoy helped, but I thought the most recent album was a big step in the right direction. I enjoyed A Dramatic Turn of Events more than anything else they have released since Scenes. I am eager to hear the next album and see if Mangini being present during the writing process shakes things up further.

I don't mean to sound anti Portnoy though, I enjoy a lot of his side projects. Flying Colors, Transatlantic, and I'm looking forward to the Winery Dogs.
