Dude what a killer tone and riff. Excellent band if you're into more contemplative black metal stuff.

Same, that tone is THICC

No one knows, Drudkh has always been known for the "wall of sound" thing they have going on, no one knows what amps he uses, just that he used a Rhoads in the few available live pics

My guess would be a marshall or hiwatt, maybe fender? something vintage being pushed with pedals

Recto or something 6L6 hit with a Distortion pedal and maybe some plug in stuff going on, could be some SS stuff especially on the more heavily effected strumming stuff almost like a Roland sounding amp

Yeah could be? It definitely has the low end of a recto but it also reminds me of old ampeg 6L6 heads too

I don't hear the solid state thing, it's just too low end-y and fat - I kind of associate solid state black metal tones as early Gorgoroth and Deathspell Omega style. The super ultra tight gained out thing

It's a really interesting sound either way, and I'm curious because it's so far out of my normal wheelhouse I have no idea what he did to get that tone

It's layered out as fuck, I need to send you my old line 6 ux tone monkey patches, I had this shit nailed. It was a Soldano w/v30, 57 on axis and I ran an eq and a chorus with no rate. It was wild, it just filled up the spectrum

Yeah that Line 6 tone monkey soldano patch with a V30 was absolutely savage. I used it for a bunch of my own black metal stuff LOL

Obviously bm is a niche thing, but i can't understand why they aren't as big as like, Watain or something yano?

They are such an incredible band and really underrated
