New Eminence - Karnivore

I typically like my eminence speakers to handle the low end with a more scooped mid and not a lot of highs so that they can be mixed with something else more common to fill the mids and highs out. I’m not entirely sure I like this speaker at all.

I have really been liking Eminence better lately because Celestion always seems to have that fizzy upper mid / highs that gets irritating after awhile. I have been loving the Swamp Thangs lately.

I preordered a quad of these yesterday, and grabbed the IR pack. Should be about 4-6 weeks for the speakers to arrive.

Here is a clip...Mesa Mark V into my Driftwood Reactive load. Bauer custom strat with a Hapas Leviathan pickup.

I like the riffing. Not sure about the tone though?

I agree it sounds a lot like a k100, and would surely make a great blender with the V30.

I like it…..

It sounds like a V30 with scooped mids, extended highs and big and tight bottom end.

Pretty dope.

Interested to hear these in something other than Kristians detuned baritone. I had K100s in a cab with V30s and pulled them almost immediately. They were dark and wooly but the high mid presence was there in full force

sounds juicy.
btw guys, old Eminence Legend V12 is very bad for metal? fully opposite to V30 and very bassy, right?

To me they always sounded scooped but flat in the highs and lows.

This Karnivore seems to be just another take on a V30 but with a modern touch or a modern interpretation of one with a seagull like curve:dunno:

This doesnt sound at all like a V30. Not even remotely similar.

Yeah I was reffering to a V12 scoop mids flat highs and lows.

Regarding Karnivore again a modern take on a V30 with scooped mids and extended highs and lows.

Brother there is absolutely nothing scooped about a V30, have you ever actually heard one lol?

V30s are my favorite speaker and the mids are so present that you have to scoop the mids on the amp a bit to compensate. Theyre known for the mid spike.

An H75 creamback, ill give you scooped mids with extended highs and lows but definitely not a v30
