Best advice I could give is not to get caught up in all the gear nonsense as it is worse than crack and not really productive to making music. Just make sure your action is low and your guitar holds tune reasonably well and assuming you want to be a rock and roll guitarist go get the following records:
1. Led Zeppelin 1
2. The Beatles Rubber Soul
3. The Rolling Stones Sticky Fingers
4. Black Sabbath 1
5. Mettalica And Justice For All
6. Van Halen 1
Devour these albums and learn how to play the tracks and styles, you will be on the right track.
When you get a little older get a decent Les Paul and a Marshall Head and Cabinet and you can rule the world. Everything else is addiction, self serving and unnessqcary and this is coming from one of the most addicted gear whores around. Trust me on this.
I have been fortunate enough to jam with Billy Gibbons, Zakk Wylde, Danny Gatton (RIP) and a few others you would probably know and I can honestly say the best times I have ever had playing my guitar was when I was 15 years old with my Cort Les Paul copy and Gorilla amp playing Dazed and Confused in my bedroom when no one was home![]()

Try to dedicate time to actual practice instead of noodling, i.e. Scales, Chords, legato, picking etc, using a metronome or some kind of drum track to help your timing. Try not to get any bad habits now because they can be a pain in the ass to correct down the road...
