Maine is full of bleeding heart grey haired libs. Maybe if they were packing heat like Texas this would've been brought to an end. Old people, women, homosexuals, and handicapped people should always be strapped considering they are a bigger target for street urchins.

I’m not looking to start a 2A discussion or anything, but comparing collecting guns to collecting guitars and amps, makes the verbiage and meaning of 2A fairly inconsequential as to why you are actually owning guns.
I don’t collect guns. Wish I could. Every gun I have purchased has a use. Except the ones I inherited. But they still have a use as well. I go from there a tool perspective. And we’re a hunters also. I also have multiple ones for a shtf scenario.

I think the decline of society has a lot to do with abandoning a common mindset and Christianity did used to provide a benchmark and a set of norms that I think is lacking now.
There's at least a correlation. But honestly, the "Christian" culture of previous times gave us slavery, jim-crow, a civil war where 600k Americans died, two world wars, the holocaust, the nuclear incineration of two japanese cities, etc. I'm sure humans will come up with justifications for all kinds of atrocities in any day and age, any religion or not.

You can’t be a Christian and own slaves. Slavery predates any religion and it’s not a “white “ construct. I’m not following what you’re trying to say.

Ah, so all those Southern Baptist and Pentecostal plantation owners weren’t Christian??? They would beg to differ…

Both your examples didn’t exist back then dummy…you know I’m not attracted to you for your brain…and I stand by my original statement.

I’m not sure that’s true, feel free to correct me. But my point is that the culture of the time was largely informed by Judeo-Christian values, right?

I'm pretty sure I've read in the bible where God has rules of how to treat your slaves. So even seems condoned by God.

Peter 2:18
Slaves, in reverent fear of God submit yourselves to your masters, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh.

Exodus 21 Is a good read about how to treat your slaves :hys:

"If the only thing keeping a person decent is the expectation of divine reward then brother that person is a piece of shit and I'd like to get as many of them out in the open as possible. "

Wrong motive for being a Christian. No repentance there. You have to believe AND repent. The repentance part is more about attitude leading to change in a person's life rather than being perfect because even the Bible recognises that this side of heaven people are going to trip up and do the wrong thing. We are human after all. This is why people whinging about hypocritical Christians are at least partially wrong. Christians are always going to be hypocritical - they are imperfect like everyone else. Christianity is not about being "holier than thou" it's about realising how unholy (sinful) we really are even as Christians. There was only one perfect man. That's what the Bible is all about.

I believe God knows what's in your heart so the hypocritical argument is up to him in my opinion. Yes we all fall short of the glory of God.
