The EVH line is great. I love my stealth. Not sure if this will be a totally different animal or not. When peavey did the 6534 I thought for some reason it was gonna sound completely different but didn't at all. I mean there was some subtle changes but nothing "British " about any of it. I'm guessing this might be more of a difference the peavey el34 version. It looks killer!! Would have been awesome if they could have added the midi like on the 50w.

$2500 made in Mexico ... no thanks.

I don't feel like contributing to the Valerie Bertinelli retirement fund.

Ed's always taken the cheap mass produced way out with his products.

He really needs to get with a Boutique builder and do a limited run of what fans have been waiting 40 years for.

I agree 100%. Do we know that is made there? If so, no way. A MIM amp at Friedman/Bogner prices? GTFO

Ed's original amp was modded in Mexico so makes sense. He actually bought a transformer in Juarez because it had a different voltage and made it easier to achieve that tone.

Sorry, couldn't resist since our forum is packed with all us EVH tone chasers. :)

Which 3 channel, 100W Friedman or Bogner are $2500 new? They are $3500+. So $2500 for an amp with similar features, designed in conjunction with the greatest name in the history of heavy rock guitar and made about 100 miles further south by people probably speaking the same language as those building the Friedmans and Bogners.... just saying. :D

If you care about America's security you'll gladly pay this price! This is how the Mexicans will pay for the wall. Taxes off a decent wage, making an EVH amp in Ensenada.

I was gonna ask the same ? With taxes you're talking 4K. For the 100w versions. That's why this amp, JP2C and the 2555x are all such great buys.

""'EL34's for the brown sound'"" :D
What was the 6L6 version Stealth? The green sound?
I really can't see this amplifier sounding much different… Not that I don't think they are a great amp, they are! Just saying…

I'd love to get one but I really don't have a need for one. Knowing my luck our rep up in Canada being the doof he is will order only 2 anyways like the last Stealth run.

I don't want to put the cart before the horse so to speak, but just seems like this is going to be the same 5150-III with just different tubes, and could be so much more.

I really wish they would have gone in a different direction with this one and really focused ONLY on the brown sound tone instead of trying to make it an "everything" amp. The new EVH amps sound great already. Keep those tones as their own thing. They really could have done a different look with the headshell, classic look, classic tone, etc.

I think about what Friedman has done recently with different types of amps and how Scott Splawn has been doing stuff with bringing the power down like a variac, etc. I really thought EVH was going to go in a different direction. Like I said, not out yet so who knows but just seems like it will be more of the same.

With all that preamp gain you would have to set it "barely on" in the front end to even notice the different power tube.

Okie Dokie. I'm not going to get into the whole made in the USA vs import argument again. Don't get me wrong, I love the EVH line, and how MESA came to the price of the JP2C I don't know but it is actually the bargain of the century. I kinda hope others will take note. I guess my thinking is apples to oranges :dunno:

Without hearing or playing it, it's hard to say but I think they may have missed the boat on this one too. I would have definitely been in on a full on early Brown sound, single channel Marshall clone if you will, tweaked by Ed. I know enough about amps to know that EVH, Soldano, Mesa etc is all about the preamp section. Hell my 50 watt sounds like a Marshall to a certain degree.

Regarding manufacture; the EVH stuff is solid just like the Peavey stuff. Quality shit. Pricing is based on what the market will bear. Simple or as that.

All depends on your taste in gear, and what your willing to spend. Ive been thru & done with the substandard gear thing 35 years ago.

An Agile or Epi LP is no Custom Shop Les Paul.

Am i rich, not by a longshot but i have nice things.

Those EVH amps don't sound like the first few VH albums to me but tone is subjective.

One eyed puppies, kids with cancer commercials & aging rock stars its all marketing ...

Builders like Friedman & Bogner are Electronic Engineers designing & building products from scratch.

Ed has Fender build his amps with tips from Matt Brunk and then sent to their manufacture empire south of the border.

If i never buy anything but used ever again im okay with that.

Overpriced, because people are screaming for it. Of course the market will bear it, because people are stupid enough to pay it. Everything's overpriced.

弗里德曼安都超过了100英里。

The 5153 blue channel sounds pretty good once opened up on the master. Red? Meh. But the posted demo for this amp sounds just like the 6L6 version. All preamp.
