SO FUCKING STOKED! I'm like a little kid. Y'all, I have been lusting after the "big 2" for about 5 years now. Really wanted an Axe, then came the Ultra and the Kemper. I was pretty well sold on the Kemper from day one because A - it was alien technology and B - it looks frakkin' RAD!!!

I am more excited than Ralphie on Christmas morning!

Take the journey with me, would you?

Hey, that's a pretty big box …

What's in there???

Zee Germanz!!!

Seriously, I can not explain how excited I am to get this thing plugged in and fumble around with it. I need 5 usable sounds my Sunday night!

One thing that I'll say, and forgive me for sounding dumb, but this thing FEELS substantial. I expected it to be a bit plastic feeling. Not at all. Feels like it can be used without kid gloves which really impressed me. The Mission pedal is heavy as shit and feels great too.

Congrats! Best piece of gear I've bought in a little long time. Do yourself a favor and at least grab the free Michael Britt profile on his site. It's a Marshall and it's good. I need me one of those pedals too but the green was sold out.

:m17:

Good stuff! Enjoy it and tell the family you'll on a vacation for a few days!

Register it then get on rig manager and start uploading some profiles.

Nice...can't wait to hear some Fate outta that bitch

Which song? I was thinking "Uninvited Guest" "Last Rites" or maybe "House on the Hill"

If I go old school then maybe "Burning The Cross"

Cool. What's your thoughts so far?
Looks awesome! LOL!

Just got out of my last meeting at work so on my way home now!

Congrats. I have the white toaster and love it. How is the Mission pedal?

Didn't get to it yet. Played for about 2 hours through headphones. I got it updated to the newest firmware.

The headphones don't sound bad at all.

So right now my favorite profiles that came with it are:
* TAF-Deluxe Clean
• TAF-D/13+ Clean
• TAF-Clapton Blues
• TAF-JCM800 Drive
• Acoustic C
• Till's Recto Modern 3

I agree that there are a lot of tones on the Rig Exchange that I am just not digging. Some are very good though.

Where do I store my commercial profiles? In the Rig Manager? Can I delete the profiles on the unit I don't like? I already copied them to a folder.

I deleted every stock profile. I just don't think they sound good. Just load commercial profiles onto a sub stick, load into kemper and that's it. Then once you open rig manager next time with the kemper connected, they will show up. I have pack 2 of Michael Britt loaded and nothing else right now other than saving a few new profiles that I tweaked of his.

Check out Top Jimi Profiles for reasonably priced profiles.. I think TJ has the best Marshall profiles going. He has a sale going on right now as well. The 68, 74 and Marshall jubilee profiles kill!

I want to check the MBritt ones out but not for $50. There were about 5 on the site I really enjoyed and unless there are multiples of each clip he samples, then the value/dollar just isn't there for me.

I DID just buy the TopJimi Marshall bundle though. He insists there is no post processing on his samples and they sound stellar in the clips. Can't wait to get home and take them for a spin!

Funny you should mention it. I jet bought them about 20 minutes before reading you post. It's crazy to me how many BAD Marshall profiles there are!

Get the free Britt marshall profile by signing up for his email list. I'm also coming out with a profile or 2 very soon. Studio owner friend and I are starting the profile process this weekend. ;)

Cool man. I will be as well. I am going to profile the hell out of my Splawn rig. I have some buddies in town with nicer studios than mine that also have some really nice gear. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with for sure.

Some of the TJ profiles are a little thick in the midrange and seem a bit dark, imo, but I use them all the time at gigs and they seem to work pretty well live. Use some eq in the "x" slot and slight tweaks make a large difference.. Not all profiles sound good with all guitars/ pickups either.

I'd give it some time before I went out and bought a bunch of profiles.

I have started taking some of the turds people call profiles and found that like you, adding some touches of EQ can go a long way. I have heard the same thing about all guitars + profiles not being equal. I will definitely keep that in mind when auditioning them. On the TJ profiles, I really wanted the '68 & '74 Super Leads, the Mark II 50 watter and the Paul Gilbert one. By the time I'd pay for those it more more economical sense to buy them all.

Yeah I am DONE for now! LOL!

Actually one of our RT alums is working on a store and sent me a bunch of sound clips of his profiles. They are on point! His Marshall ones are sounding nice and "up front" so I am hoping he get's the store up soon.
