It's like a Weber Z-Matcher but it's rack mountable and remotely controllable when synced up with other KHE ACS units. It allows you to use basically any combo of amp / cab impedance and compensate for any impedance mismatches. Very useful looking unit.

ZMX-1 - Automatic Impedance Matcher​

The ZMX-1 is an automatic impedance matching device for the KHE ACS amp/cab switchers. It automatically corrects any impedance mismatch between the amps and cabs on the ACS system (speaker-level).

• The ZMX uses a custom 150W auto-transformer for the impedance matching (single-phase multi-tap transformer, made in USA, switched by relays)
• The ZMX is programmed with the impedance value for each amp / cab on the ACS switcher. If not matched, the ZMX automatically matches and corrects the impedance.
• Handles any 16Ω / 8Ω / 4Ω / 2Ω device and also automatically handles uneven values like 5.3Ω, 3.2Ω, 2.6Ω in Dual-Cab Mode (special transformer taps)
• Connects to the ACS Attenuator Loop, so it sits between the amps and cabs. Attenuators can be used too (the ZMX can match one side)
• The ZMX is connected to the ACS CTRL IN port for phantom power and network communication
• Manual Bypass, Auto-Match-Bypass and Transistor-Amp-Bypass modes

It's a really cool thing. I've always liked the idea of the weber z-matcher but its odd form factor makes it seem like it would be cumbersome to keep in a rig. Also the fact that the z-matcher can only be manually operated means that if you have several different gear configurations in a switcher or something, you'd always have to take the extra step of clicking the switches around when you changed amps and cabs which basically means one more potential thing to forget about or get wrong, and possibly break gear because when that happens.

However, this thing being rack mountable and automatable is pretty ideal.

I hope they look into a more basic, manual unit that can be used independently of their core products. Would be nice to have a rackmountable version of the Weber on the market.
