Just got an email from Kruse Kontrol regarding Jens' new amp switchers. Damn, these look badass. Run up to 5 amps and 5 cabs simultaneously or however you want and the damn thing is $349!

I've had a few amps modded by Jens, good guy and I'm sure quality will be spot-on. I just emailed him to check on availability. This will make life so much easier with multiple amps and cabs. Wish they had effects loop switching capability, but for the price....

I don't trust it. The internal resistor to safeguard an unconnected amp output must be really low power or high resistance (not good in either case).

I'd like more data on how to compensate for the ohm changes.

Jens Kruse is brilliant. That being said, I would want some more info on how this is working with ohms

I am interested in this product at this price for sure.

Edit...I just messaged them about fixing two of my Randall X2 heads, and they got back to me right away. I had heard that the customer service was excellent, and they proved themselves correct.

I sent an email to Kruse Kontrol regarding the operating of the unit.

This was his response to me:

"The units have 8 ohm/100w load resistors built in that fully protect your amps even when no cab is attached. Resistors kick in when the amps connected are switched off (on the unit), so the amps you're not using always have a load. Resistors also kick in when no cabs are plugged in to the unit. Plugging 1 or more cabs in switches the load resistor off.

We did extensive "crash tests" using a 100w amp going full blast into unit without cab attached. The load resistors absorbed everything.

We also took a unit to a local recording studio and did amps/cabs shoot outs and switched everything from the control room. Worked perfectly and we played/recorded for 4-5 hours.

You will have a problem if you plug in a cab and the speaker cable is broken or not plugged into the speaker cabinet. This risk anyone would have even without this unit.

But bottom line is: If you don't hear a signal you stop playing right away.

Kind regards,

Jens Kruse"

You need to derate resistors. A 100W amp into a 100W resistor is like playing with fire.
