What I meant to say, is that the amps are so different, they shouldn't be compared. Sorry.
Well...let's not throw out the baby with the bath water...
We all have to compare our amps to others. Sometimes they're similar in a number of regards, and sometimes they aren't. Making comparisons helps people understand what makes our products different. Speaking publicly about it can be tricky enough, even when specifically/directly asked to draw comparisons; I usually save that for a phone conversation so it directly and privately addresses the person who asked the question, and so I can more easily avoid misinterpretation. In any case, avoiding "strong language" when comparing the amps is wise, for two reasons: one you already realize, and the second is that it makes sense to speak as objectively as possible to let people draw their own conclusions, since you'd rather present the most honest representation of your product as possible. It saves everyone headaches in the long run. You can actually only describe differences anyway, not "how much more my amp kicks ass" (which actually makes no sense). Saying "it's in a different league" usually implies "it's far better" (even if you actually only meant to say "it's a different amp") and it can be easily inferred you meant to say that based on the context of the paragraph (whether you implied it or not) because of the fact it's "strong language" and we usually use it that way.
We're inevitably going to sometimes use more positive-sounding terms to describe the differences in our amps when comparing to others; we can't completely avoid it because we're biased. But even in those cases it's a good idea to remind someone that you're speaking from your own perspective only, while still trying to speak as objectively as possible and keep things in a proper context. I'd bet fewer feathers would've been ruffled had you left out the term "in a different league" (which wasn't necessary to describe anything about the differences in your amp), and mentioned how your amp was aimed at a different sort of sound without painting it with that brush of "more gain and is more articulate" (which seems like a description Rig Talk members would generally consider favorable about an amp). As a very general example (not implying any similarites to Landry or Carol-Ann amps at all

I wouldn't want a JTM-45 to sound higher gain and more articulate; it does what it does because of the balance it has; as such it's aimed at a different player than a JCM800 is. Someone who loves JTM-45 amps might hate a JCM800, and vice versa; there are clearly markets for both amps and neither is "better" overall. I'm sure you realize that. Now look at your original post, and see how it's missing something along those lines. If you can find a way of saying something like that while making a comparison of your product to another, it would be hard to fault you for posting that information/opinion publicly.
