Yeah, this is pretty bad...the songs and the hooks just aren't there. It sounds like they wrote this album trying to be current, style-wise. Like they were gearing up for a tour with Buckcherry, Shinedown, etc. Production is sorta like that too. Pretty dry in terms of what you'd expect from a bunch of 80's guys. I don't think the guitar tones are bad for what they are, if you're not expecting 80's Lynch tones. They work well with the sound of the album. If the hooks were there, I wouldn't have much issue with the rest of the stuff. At least the songs would be catchy and make you want to listen more. This just made me say...."Well, maybe the next song will have something?" Nope, nothin' happenin'.
