New Maiden tune.....

I can say with confidence that this album can't be worse than A Matter of Life and Death.

Hmm not too bad for first listen, but what I want to know is why the guitars have been buried in the mix since at least Brave New World ? Earlier albums the guitar sound is right there in your face, which is what most people would want from a band like Maiden, not like they are out to try and be somewhat commercial or anything, they have their loyal fanbase.

On another note I think a lot of these bands that have been going at it for 30+ years are just plain out of ideas for good songs. I'm not into much newer music these days so its kind of a bummer when one of your favorite bands does actually put something out and then find out its not too hot. (like that last frisbee of a Maiden disc)

this, was sorely disappointed with that album.........

His singing style actually sounds a lot like some of the funny songs on their album, "Best of the B-Sides"

LOVE IT! although the vox are a bit weak, but Bruce isnt as young as he used to be.

More so than Dance of Death?

AMOLAD took a while to grow on me......of the stuff since Bruce returned, it's right behind Brave New World to me.

I think BNW, DOD, and AMOLAD are all killer albums. I didn't like Dance Of Death at first, but now it's one of my favorites. That's also my favorite guitar tone they've ever had as well.

The vocals are not happening for me. :aww: Sounds like he is really stretching to get to pitch and when he does that, it sounds weak. I'll have to listen a few more times though.

The three solos in the title track are completely epic IMO. Everytime I listen to that song I rewind that whole section over and over again.

The last good Iron Maiden album was Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, IMO. It's also my favorite followed by Powerslave, Somewhere In Time, The Number Of The Beast and Piece of Mind. I've never been a big fan of Di'Anno era Maiden although there are couple of killer tunes on those albums.

Mark, did you see the NHL finals? From my Finnish standpoint, I would've wanted to see Kimmo get his ring but no can do. Leino was on fire throughout the playoffs and Niemi was very strong up until the finals. Didn't see any of those games so can't really comment Niemi's playing in the finals...

Yea, but on the other hand he sang really good on the Flight 666 live stuff :)

Damn, Bruce let me down on that one

I agree, and after hearing him on the last tour, we all know he still "has it."

This song left me cold, and this is coming from someone that loves all of the Maiden albums released since Bruce came back.
