For r2 try boosting it with a tubescreamer pedal. Running r2 always with geq is recommended a well.

I have been checking it out with a Maxon OD808 and it kills. Doesn't need it though!

Congrats! You can cover pretty much any tonal ground you need between that and your 6505+. Great amps.

I did. The Strats all have humbuckers now but one. Aldrich, and Super D's. So the Rectifier sounded great.
I used a MK for a good 12-15 years in the mid 80's to about 2000. As much as I consider myself a Marshall guy, I've used Mesa's just as long if not longer! The truth hurts.
