New Metallica leaked!!

Dont get me wrong , I pre-ordered the new album , but I couldnt resist downloading the leak....and...................HOLY SHIT!!! It is a perfect mix of old school and Load/Reload era Metallica. I am one of the few that loved those albums and I am glad to hear them find that groove again. Guitar tones are solid , snare drum is on point , guitar solos are right where they should be etc. I dont think it could be a better album. Its the Metallica album that I have been waiting for since Garage Inc. came out.
 
I pre-ordered it but I'm taking it for a spin now, sounds great
 
That's great to hear!! As a lifelong Metallica fan, I'm dying waiting for that to come out but I have to wait until THE day. :)

I have been hearing great things about that album.
 
My CD arrives day of release but couldn't resist....liking the couple of songs I heard so far! \m/
 
Quite different than I expected. Will take a couple listens.

But... Spit Out the Bone! :shocked:


And Jaymz is singing about Ktulu again, lol.

I do hear the Load/Reload element here, but this is way better, it's like they finally learned how to use it. Surprised by how they were able to fuse some of their different eras together to good effect.

And throwing in earlier influences too.

Manunkind is the best Sabbath song in a while :D

James is strong on this one.
 
So...2btls of red in... and still diggin'..

Really loving now that were dead and halo on fire...what james does with the vocal melody over those trudgy riffs just hits me in the feels. The man has found his home. Spit is a great song as well.... and with this album being the most ' musical' i have ever hear james' voice and melodies sound... the cut and paste dynamics still bugs me...cuz they dont need it. But, im diggin the album... and thanks to our artists out there. Without music, the world would be pretty quiet.
 
Best album since 91, perhaps 88. Fucking tremendous. didn't think they had it in them.
 
Waiting for all the haters to chime in and berate it.

I've heard it. It has the heaviest single chord ever. Comes in after 2nd chorus. Thunderous Hetfield God shit. He upstrokes it for emphasis too. Very cool song. LOADED with riffs. That's the only song I've heard other than the 3 released. I like those 3 but Spit just shits all over them with a smirk. :rock:
 
I am LOVING the new album. Sounds fucking great, songs are awesome. I feel like it sits right between the Black album and Load, in terms of style. Really great album!

I just finished listening to the rest of them.
Dream No More and Halo on Fire are really good. Kirk actually has some great moments. The 3 songs released already have the weakest lead work easily.
A couple of the tracks are yawnfests IMO. ManUNkind and Now That We're Dead :confused:
Spit The Bone totally kills thank goodness. Instant classic :rock: :rock: :rock:

EDIT: Spit The Bone is so good it lifts up the whole album. Unbelievable delivery from Hetfield.
 
I truly feel like the 3 tunes that they released are the weakest songs on the tape. Dream No More and Halo On Fire are two favs right now. Fantastic album front to back
 
I think I'm going to love this album to death. The three released songs I love as much as any Metallica. This album is going to be in my top 5. :) The first three will always be my favorites and can't be dislodged. We'll see what happens after this one. :)
