I guess tone is subjective... I really like the new tone! :)

It is for certain. But...while I am really enjoying 72 seasons, Fidelman did Hetfield a real disservice on this one. In listening to the isolated rhythm tracks, the tone is under-gained, smeary and lacks attack. The tones in your video are far superior and would have been more appropriate for these songs.

Nice job!

Soundcloud seems to sound different depending on where you listen to it. For example, on my mediocre pc laptop, there is clear degradation- but on my iphone it sounds fantastic.
 
His sound didn't sound so unique to me. Good for what he was playing but ehh, nothing special.
