New Metallica. Pretty sick

Wow!! I have been holding off listening to the new stuff but had to take a listen. Man, that was crazy!

I've really tried to get into the new songs but I just can't. This one is no different. For this style I think the new Testament album is better IMHO.

The only thing I'm liking is James' voice. How many ratta tatta intro's are they going to have? Lars has quite the drum vocabulary these days. Solo was pretty nice in this one.

Pretty good for Metallica. Be a lot better with a real drummer.

Spit out the bone is the shit. I know opinions are like assholes...but this song is great. Several of the new tracks are boring but.....yeah, Spit is instant classic.

Please tell me these are bogus? Cause these two took a turn for the worse, bigtime

Now That We're Dead is the worst track on the album. Just let it that one go.

Dream No More is a fucking crusher and it's one of the best tracks.

Man Unkind is the weakest song....other 11 tracks are from good to great. Very solid release

Solid release....Spit out the Bone coulda used some editing down....but it's a classic already.

It's a decent album I guess, but I still prefer Megadeth's last record.

Out of the 6 songs I've heard, Spit out the Bone is the only one I really care for. The rest are marginal to shite.

It is solid but am I the only one who feels like it is disjointed? There are some cool moments where it grooves but a lot of the time it feels like they had a cool riff and just forced it in. Some of the vocal choices / parts feel this way too. Compare to AJFA or the black album where songs had drive but structure. I think the structure is missing. The first tune that came out is a better example of a well written song so they do have it in them.

The drums ...the rapid fire sample replaced snare and kick pop out like a sore thumb to me. Wonder how much Lars played this time vs quantized and replaced to be honest. Sad. He wasn't always the best drummer but he wrote some great drum parts and it was nice to hear him actually playing them with the odd imperfect timing that you could hear in some of his kick patterns...( because he was human and not a machine)

It is the Metallica album that I have been waiting for. I love the groove oriented stuff from Load/Reload. This album has plenty of that and plenty of fast stuff as well. I think the album is fantastic

They are releasing the rest of the videos starting with Dream No More at 12 EST today. Pretty cool! A video for every song...has that ever been done?

No way, I like that one!!

I guess all of us are going to put on our 2 cents based on what songs we like. :)

Unfair comparison IMO. Megadeth was a whole different thing altogether. That is an outstanding record. There has been some great stuff that came out this past year. Anthrax, Megadeth, Testament. It is like everyone is stepping up to fill the void and destroy the pop bands out there. :)
