I have an addiction to older MIJ Charvels and own more than I should, but this is a build I just finished. It was an early Model 2 that was a bit tired with the old Kahler that was missing parts. I sanded and repaired the body dings and then plugged the Kahler bridge posts. I then laid out the guitar to accept a Floyd. I had a black OFR from the 80's that was in really good shape and installed all new allen bolts and took the little finish there was on the fine tuners to expose the raw brass. I painted the guitar with a matte black automotive 2 stage paint. I got a newer MIJ neck that is flawless and that feels so nice...rolled edges and quartersawn. I topped it off with a brass knob and a Suhr Aldrich 53mm pickup. Nothing fancy here but I really like the simplicity and it plays and sounds sweet. Thanks for looking.

:inlove: Nice work!

Exactly what I would like to do to my trusty 3dr at some point. It's got the original neck in it but I'm planning on replacing it with a maple fb neck at some point or other. Bought a chrome OFR (the original bridge is the JT-6 in the 3dr) too just a couple of days ago, should be here by the end of the week  .

Nice work, love the old school vibe. A double creme pup would make it pop :D

Love the model 2! Guess I am the only one that wants to keep mine pointy...

Awesome guitar man!
Love the simplicity of it.
Same set as my guitar. Love them Aldrich pickups! :D

Thanks for all the compliments...I enjoy doing these every once in a while. And ronjhoser don't worry...This is my only non-pointy headstock Charvel  I just wanted a maple necked one and also thought the rosewood would make the guitar too dark looking.

Looks cool as is but would also look great with a cream ring and a zebra or double cream pickup.

Man I miss my 3Dr. I'd love that neck.....I could find a body to put it on.
